Question:	How do these compare with older PH3500U-1I72 version? Toshiba dropped the warranty on X300 to 2 years, why? What compromises were made
Answer:	I think they are the same disk nearly, when I test the performance, they behave no difference.Moreover, both disks use the same firmware version.However, when i check the warranty period on Toshiba website, x300 stated as 3 years and ph3500u stated as 2 years, totally mixed up.

Question:	What's the difference between this one and the older model
Answer:	The X300 uses more advanced storage techniques and more efficient cache management techniques and protocols. It is faster, and more efficient. There is nothing wrong with the older model, I have both in use n my network, but the x300 is better suited for a busy digital media server especially if your server/workstation has multiple core processors. I like the X300 the only drawback (if you want to call it that) is tha te X300 is a little bit on the noisy side due t the read/write head technology used. It is not objectionable in my opinion. Both drives have been dependable.

Answer:	It's a single connection with a USB port. It has a self-supported power plant and there's no need to plug into AC jack. Once plugged into a USB device it powers on and as soon as you unplug the drive from a USB port the drive powers down.

Answer:	Yes, I'm pretty sure it will. I had bought one for my daughter when I bought her a iMac that I'm pretty sure was operating on yosemite, several years ago.
Question:	I purchased this item while using the Mac Lion 10.9.5 OS...May I update to the new Mac Yosemite OS and still use this product
Answer:	So far with mine it appears to be working fine. I have another similar Toshiba drive that was windows based, but was supposed to be compatible with MAC and I am having a problem with this one. As long as you got the one geared for a MAC, I believe you should be Ok. However, who knows what bugs may show up initially down the line.
Question:	I am unable to connect to any PCs, what did you do to enable PC use as well
Answer:	It's a USB 3.0 device, so if things are working properly it should be automatically recognized (Plug N Play) by your laptop or desktop computer. I normally plug the USB cable into the drive first and then into the PC, once you're at your desktop main screen. Hope this helps !

Answer:	In a stock PS4? No. The PS4 can only hold a 2.5" hard drive internally. But, if you purchased the Nyko Data Bank for your PS4, you could essentially use any 3.5" hard drive that you wanted.Update: I just installed this hard drive in my PS4 (with an external set-up), and it functions FLAWLESSLY.

Answer:	Bare drive is just that ... BARE.You need a place to put it and that is where cable connections come into play.I use an external case/power supply and all cables came with it. (NexStar CX)Internal use might require purchase of a cable. I must use external since mycomputer is a laptop. ONE eSATA connection gives me a classic two drive system. The Toshiba is a third drive. Both are in external cases.

Answer:	Generally, Toshiba HDD's tend to last longer than most other brands but from time to time some bad drives get out there. You would be hard pressed to find a more reliable brand out there, overall. I have a Toshiba 350 GB HDD (circa 2007) that I just recently relegated to a older secondary PC that saw everyday use for almost 10 years and it is still going strong.

Answer:	I was shocked to just discover this drive is not listed on the Toshiba US website. I own three of the drives and one from 2014 just failed. When I went to investigate the warranty terms by putting in the model number in the support website (http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=DT01ACA300), the pop-up error message was this product is unknown in the Americas, New Zealand, and Australia. I will post a review with a screen print of the message.

Answer:	Check the literature on your computer & see if it has a Sata3 port. If you're not sure, follow up with Lenovo & ask them. It will work on any SATA port, but it will work best if you have SATA3.

Answer:	Well according to NewEgg, it's 128MB.

Answer:	The PS4 uses 2.5" HDD so this should fit in no problem. The only thing is that this HDD runs at 5400 RPM (the same as the HDD that comes with the PS4). If you're looking for a faster replacement drive, look into finding a 2.5" HDD that runs at 7200 RPM (you can find some for around this same price) or even a cheap 2.5" SSD. Otherwise, if you're just looking to increase capacity by replacing your HDD the system came with at the same speed, this should do fine.

Answer:	The specs on this drive are Rapid PCIe Gen3x4 Interface : read/write up to 3500/3000MB/s NVMe 1.3-Support , so if your Motherboard supports PCIe Express 3x4 (PCI 3.0) which is what this drive supports, PCIe 4.0 which is only now being made available on the newest AMD chipset motherboards and specific SSD drives using the new interface will benefit from the new PCIe 4.0 speeds. Long answer short: this drive should be compatible with a PCIe 4.0 supported motherboard, but rated speeds are PCIe 3.0 for this drive.

Answer:	No. Apple began soldering SSDs to the logic board beginning in 2016. Although, it would work in either an external Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C enclosure. Cost will be relevant to the type of enclosure used regarding its throughput capability.

Answer:	I can confirm, have two working in RAID 0 as a boot drive with a fresh install of Windows 10. No issues, followed some YouTube videos for the recommended setting to get RAID working. Since I'm using a motherboard with Intel RST, a driver was needed to identify the drives during Windows install but I was aware of this ahead of the time and had the drivers pre-loaded on my USB install media. Seamless and getting every bit of promised performance on CrystalDisk.
