Answer:	A USB 3.0 cable is included with the drive, and that can be connected to a USB 2.0 port on the computer, but that will of course greatly reduce performance if you choose to do so.

Answer:	A USB-C hard drive is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 ports on a Mac, so this will work. Also works of course with USB-C ports, and older USB 3.0 ports using supplied cable.

Answer:	USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 share the same physical connection type (USB-C). USB-C devices can be connected to Thunderbolt 3 ports, as TB3 supports USB-C devices. However, TB3 drives cannot be connected to USB-C ports on computer. So, this USB-C drive will connect to USB-C ports, Thunderbolt 3 ports, or using included cable, USB 3.0/2.0 ports.
Question:	Can I take the hard drive out and use it as a regular desktop hard drive
Answer:	I’ve done this with about 30+ 2tb, 4tb, and 8tb drives over the years- converting an external to an internal- and they are all still running fine to this day. Usually $30-40 cheaper than the internal and you get a free usb cable to boot. Just make sure you don’t hurt your hands while doing it. Twisting a flathead screw driver in the seams seemed like the way to go if I recall. They don’t make the cases easy to open. For someone below: Don’t use these for RAID. NAS rated drives are different because they handle higher heat, able to run 24/7 with cross checks, etc. read more about what makes the iron version a NAS approved drive compared to the standard barracuda.

Answer:	Just reformatted the external hard drive using Disk Utility. Answer:	Like a charm, exactly what I purchased it for. Plug into any of the three ports (all 3 of the original XBox One ports are 3.0) and give it a minute. The XBox will recognize it and you have to choose for storage or media. Choose storage for games and you are up and running. Do be aware that this HDD does require its own power supply. I was transferring games within 5 minutes. FWIW within half an hour there was a power outage in the middle of a transfer and the external drive, the XBox One and the data are were ok when power came back on. If a data transfer is interrupted for any reason simply delete the failed portion on the destination drive and start the process over.

Answer:	If you are only using this for a windows PC i would recommend reformatting to ntsf. If you want the drive readable by a PC and mac try ExFat fomat. I use mine on a mac and i fomatted it to mac OS journalled. I would not recommend fat32 format under any circumstances. Answer:	I can't find the transfer speed listed anywhere, even in LaCie spec sheet - https://www.lacie.com/www-content/datasheets/pdfs/lacie-mobile-drive-DS1997-2-1812US-en_US.pdf Based on previous experience with LaCie portable HDD units, I would guess 130-140MB/s range. This is a 2.5" HDD and whether connecting to a USB-C, USB 3.0, or Thunderbolt 3 port, speeds will be the SAME. This is not an actual Thunderbolt 3 port on the drive, it is USB-C which is "compatible" with Thunderbolt 3. And also, for a basic drive like this, the hard drive itself is the limiting speed factor. Connecting to Thunderbolt will not increase performance, basic physics. The drive can only deliver so much data per second, period. If speed is a big concern, then you need to look at an SSD portabl drive with USB-C or Thunderbolt 3, then you will see massive speed improvements. SSD will cost a lot more of course.

Answer:	Yes will work fine. It was originally available with hard drives of 20 and 60 GB (20 GB model was not available in PAL regions) but various sizes up to 500 GB have been made available since then (see: model comparison). All PS3 models have user-upgradeable 2.5" SATA hard drives.

Answer:	This unit has USB and Thunderbolt. There are adapters available to use the older USB devices with USB C.

Answer:	You may need a specific Thunderbolt driver for Ubuntu to access this drive. I would go the Ubuntu website to see if this exists. Normally, I access Ubuntu from a virtual machine so I avoid this kind of problem.
Question:	What's the difference with other same products
Answer:	It comes with a short Thunderbolt cable and a USB cable, you don't need to buy any.
Question:	Will it work with an iPad mini
Answer:	The drive itself is only 5,400 RPM. However, if your only option is Thunderbolt or USB 2.0 (2011 iMac for instance) then this drive will still offer higher performance over a 7,200 RPM external USB 2.0 hard drive. USB 2.0 is limited to about 60MB/s (480Mbit/s), and this drive achieves around 105MB/s - 109MB/s according to http://reviews.cnet.com/external-hard-drives/buffalo-ministation-thunderbolt-1tb/4505-3190_7-35338125.html. Having said that, I have two of these. I have one on a 2013 iMac (i7 & 16GB Ram) and another on a 2011 iMac (i7 & 16GB Ram). I use them as external drives for my Windows 8 virtual machines. They are very speedy, and I haven't had any performance issues as of yet. You're correct however, you will never see 10,000GBit/s as they imply.

Answer:	Noise is very subjective matter, but to me, this unit was pretty quiet compared to other drives I have i.e. RAID drive...
Question:	Is the usb-c interface actaully thunderbolt 3, or just usb-c
Answer:	USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 are NOT the same. TB3 is significantly faster, and can daisy chain TB3 devices. USB-C is much cheaper, but also slower, and can not be daisy chained. They do use cables with the same connectors, but this looks like it's just USB-C. Price point is a giveaway. Don't think you can get a drive with TB3 this inexpensively.
