If you have an 8 inch mattress or more you probably wouldn’t notice the railing when it’s in the down position. We use it as security to keep my son from rolling out of his top bunk bed. His mattress is only 3 to 4 inches thick and therefore it sticks up about an inch or so. We love it as it’s very convenient and it provides the safety I want on the bunkbed without having to extend the whole length of the bed. |

While we have been very pleased with the heating capabilities and controls, we have noticed that the connectors from the controls to the matress pad are getting very hot. It's to the point that we feel that it is hazardous. Because the plugs from the controls to the pad are not sealed - you can actually see the wires in the connector - I wrapped some electricians tape around the connectors and the wires to stabilize the connection. The tape is melting. We have also noticed that the fabric on the bottom of the pad is separating along several stitches. While we have had the product for several years, we feel that we must replace it for our safety, even though it is still functional. |
