Answer:	It should work with Windows 8 though I only used with Windows 10. If you insert a DVD and a video player does not start up, you may need a player that will recognize the drive. On a recommendation from a friend, I installed "VLC media player" and this app opens when I insert a DVD into the Riodadas player. VLC is a free and open source media player that works with all Windows versions. You can get the player here: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Answer:	Indeed, the cable is USB 2, not 3. This shouldn't be an issue, though, because the drive speed is the limiting factor. Reading & writing CDs & DVDs (not Blu-Ray disks) is slow enough that USB 3's high data rates are wasted.

Answer:	Yes it does work on Mac, BUT the drive will not mount until you insert a disc into the drive. I tested this on both Yosemite and Sierra. On Sierra, I tested it against USB-c, which is the smaller port found on newer (2017 and forward) Macbook Pros. I used a USB-c to USB-a adapter to do so. It worked fine.

Answer:	Hi Ricko,If the Tv has an HDMI input available you go from DVD player hdmi out to the TV using an HDMI cable if not RCA audio & video which are yellow for video Red for right side audio & white for left side audio. Look at the back of your directive box if it has an s video out use that for video to the dvd player & RCA audio cable red/white for sound. If the directive box does not have an S video out then use RCA cable.for audio & video.

Answer:	Yes, that is what I use it for exclusively. First I record a program on my dvr, then I play the DVR'd program while recording on the Toshiba. I have a component cable (3 prongs) that runs from my cable box (video, audio L and audio R out) to my Toshiba (video, audio L and audio R in). Works great. This also allows me to control when I start and stop the recording. Sometimes a movie will not last a full two hours, but will stop 10 minutes before to show "coming attractions," etc.

Answer:	If you don't have a cable or satellite receiver and are receiving your tv signals with an antenna, you either have a tv with a digital tuner or a separate digital tuner/ converter box connected to your tv. If you're using a digital converter box from your antenna to the tv, connect the outputs from the digital converter box into the inputs of Toshiba DR430 Recorder and then connect the outputs of the recorder to the TV inputs. You will be connecting from the video (yellow jack), audio (red & white jacks) to the same colored jacks in & out from the Toshiba DVD Recorder to an input on the TV. If you're not using a digital converter box already for your local stations, you will have to buy one to connect to the Toshiba Recorder to record local shows because the recorder does not have a tuner in it. You can buy them for about $30 bucks at Wal-Mart or Radio Shack. I gave you a lot of information but it's easy to setup. They can guide you at Radio Shack. I have one box hooked just this way and it works fine. Hope this was of help.

Answer:	There is NO such thing as HDMI input on a DVD recorder. Part of HDMI is to prevent end users from recording copyrighted material so you will never see an hdMI input on anything but a TV.

Answer:	The DVD recorder's input connections are RF (coax), composite, and S-video. S-video is analog. If you have S-video output from your computer, and separate audio to the RCA jacks, it probably would work. Haven't tried it. If you're thinking about recording protected signals (say, play a protected DVD on your computer and record on the DVD Recorder), don't expect that would work because the electronics typically disrupt those signals from being recorded.

Answer:	Yes, you simply insert the original in top slot, insert blank in bottom slot - close both slots and it begins the recording process. It is pretty fast, at least way way faster than my computer was. When it finishes, the bottom slot opens so you can remove your copied disc, a digital display reads " 0 failures", or "failure" if a disc is damaged or protected. Then you can insert another blank to copy same again - or remove both and insert new original on top and new blank on bottom. All you need is an outlet - no computer needed at all! I love it! Had mine for about 3 or 4 months - it is awesome!

Answer:	Dec. 21, 2020: I have been unable to use this player. I wanted to return in but since it has so many positive reviews I decided to hang on to it and keep trying but it still is not working. Am I doing something wrong? I have an all-in-one HP with Windows 10 and it usually plays DVDs flawlessly but the DVD 'door' came off and it no longer works so I purchased this...it does not work. The disc goes in, then it makes all these grinding sounds and then-nothing. It stops. Before I throw it in the trash-any suggestions?

Answer:	Perhaps this is info is too late, but I had this LG drive for about 6 months using it with Win-7.I just upgraded to Windows 10 last week, and the drive works just fine. I didn't have to update any drivers or anything.Unless Window 10 found the drivers and installed them in the background, so I didn't notice, but the bottom line is that it works fine.

Answer:	So far I haven't seen or had any problems with my LG Blu-ray burner since I upgraded to Windows 10 Professional. It's running pretty great with no driver issues. Plus I didn't have to install or add any drivers for this Blu-ray burner. So I would say, Yes, It will work with Windows 10 just fine. :)

Answer:	I would recommend the free application ImgBurn. It supports BDLX, M-DISC and many other formats. Nero Burning ROM does support M-DISC, however you will need the full version. Nero Burning ROM 2019 and Nero Platinum Suite are two of their products that support M-DISC.
