Answer:	If the CD or the DVD is copyright protected, the copier will not read the disc. The copier only reads non copyright protected discs. Also, if the disc is dirty or has scratches on its surface, the copier may have difficulty reading the disc. Cleaning the disc might help.

Answer:	It is suppose to be able to burn dual layer disks Todd... BUT I had a duplicator similar to this one for several years and if you are trying to duplicate a custom dual layer video you could run into an issue. When you burn a custom video (lets say a 2 hr wedding video), your computer will auto switch over to the second layer to burn... DVD's that you purchase do this too, usually during a scene change... but these DVD's are mass stamped so the switch over point is never a concern because it is always in the same place. On a dual layer duplicator the switch over point is not recorded in the same spot because the duplicator always slightly compresses the video... the problem this causes can be "skipping" of the video as it looses contact with the data that keeps the laser tracking the video during playback. Basically the duplicator will record the original "switch over spot" as a "blip" as the duplicator selects a different spot to switch over to in the process. I do not know if the technology has changed since the older duplicator I had... and I haven't tested this one yet... but the issue I think is a valid one for you to consider. If you are just duplicating data and not a dual layer video then you should have no issues what so ever.

Answer:	Not if the CDs are copyrighted. I believe this machine is equipped with anti-piracy technology. I use this machine for making copies of my own original movies, not copyrighted material. I-tunes will allow you to burn discs, however that is provided your computer has a cd-burner.

Answer:	The target drive *must* be equal or larger. If the drive is larger, you'll need to expand the partition in the operating system after cloning.

Answer:	The seller's answer is misleading without context. Yes, technically it CAN be used to erase/wipe drives, but that is not a native feature to this device. It is a cloner/dock, so you can use the dock functionality to connect to a PC and from there use a third party application to erase the drive. Seller should have specified, but it seems to me (I am a tad cynical by nature) that the seller purposefully didn't in order to increase interest in the product. Boo to you seller. Boo.
