Answer:	Perhaps this is info is too late, but I had this LG drive for about 6 months using it with Win-7.I just upgraded to Windows 10 last week, and the drive works just fine. I didn't have to update any drivers or anything.Unless Window 10 found the drivers and installed them in the background, so I didn't notice, but the bottom line is that it works fine.

I doubt that Dell vs. HP would matter at all - the real issue is that it is a Chromebook. For what it's worth, my Chromebook is still under AUE - meaning that it still receives updates from Google... if you have an older Chromebook that is beyond AUE and no longer receiving updates, your mileage may vary.
