Question:	Is plugging in micro usb port require if i just want to connect a keyboard and mouse
Answer:	I use this as a switch between 2 computers to a dell triple-monitor docking station to switch 3 monitors between a work computer and home PC and it works nicely. I connected the docking station to this kvm switch through the keyboard/mouse USB connection and it works well so far(only been about 2 weeks). I can tuck it all nicely away and just have the toggle switch within reach. The toggle is magnetic and come with a metal pad you can put anywhere with an adhesive backside. I have no complaints so far.
Question:	Does it allow switching between computers with a hotkey rather than pressing the button on the device
Answer:	Nothing on their product page mentions FreeSync so my guess would be "no it does not" but I can't say for sure. It's possible any FreeSync signals would just be encoded in the video signal and passed through this device, but I don't have a setup with FreeSync to test that with. You might have to call the manufacturer and ask.
Question:	Do i need to have a 5v dc power source for this
Answer:	Yes. Just remember it's a "hard switch". Meaning when you switch to PC2, as far as PC1 is concerned you just unplugged your keyboard, mouse and monitor. Windows tends to lose track of it's open windows when you do this and you have to put them all back when switching back. So if you are looking for a solution where you can quickly switch back and forth you might need to go the route of a more expensive traditional KVM that emulates the K/M and video to the host computer(s).
Question:	Does it come with 2 usb cables?How long are they
Answer:	There are 2 power inputs that you have to supply the power to. If you supply it, that travels through the switch to the computers. If not, you connect them directly to their alternate power supplies. That said, there are two of them, on for each device. When you connect the devices into the switch, everything else goes through the KVM. Including any devices you connect to the KVM on USB, such as webcams, keyboard, thumb drives, etc. I do have strange issues when connecting and disconnecting my laptops. Some times it stops charging the other one and then I have to plug it in again. Outside of that, this KVM works very well.

Answer:	I use one and it works pretty well. Now and then it will get squirrely, but it is pretty rare and is fixed with a cycle of the switch

Answer:	I think KVM is more of a keyword to help search, but so far I have been able to hookup many different mouse, keyboards, external USB cards, drives, printers and it has recognized them all.
Question:	Would switching the input cause loss of signal to the secondary monitor on Windows 10 causing windows to be rearranged
Answer:	Most KVM switches only support the default USB polling rate of 125Hz (essentially check the keyboard for a button press 125 times per second) Gaming mice and keyboards will operate at this rate, but most would prefer to run at 1000Hz. If you pressed a keyboard button right after the polling, there could be 8ms of latency before the activity is reported, vs 1ms if you plugged into the system directly. Answer:	NO - you would have to purchase more. All Surface Pro's only have 1x USB port and 1x mini-Display Port (not HDMI). You would have to purchase a mini-DP to HDMI video adapter (less than $10) to use it with this switch. Microsoft does sell a port replicator (~$150), but it also only has mini-DP video ports (so it does NOT help you to buy that). "Orion" said "Micro Surface Dock" could plug into this KVM, but only "later" said that you still need a video adapter. If you need this HDMI KVM switch, the easiest/best/cheapest thing to do would be to buy a simple "mini-DP to HDMI" video adapter and plug the (now HDMI) and USB into this KVM switch.

Question:	Does this support wireless mouse and keyboards
Answer:	Does anybody know where to get the cable that connects to the terminal block? Is there a part number for that? I've been searching for days and I cannot find any information. The terminal block seems to have a proprietary format. Raritan is doing a horrible job at explaining how to use this feature. I was considering purchasing this switch only because of the remote power on/off capability, but without the cable this is a useless feature, and the switch becomes very overpriced.
Question:	Does the 8 port kvm support audio over hdmi
Answer:	it can use a Static IP if you want. I have mine set to DHCP and reference it by the hostname from the Client app. This way the IP can change and it won't matter.

Answer:	Yes it will work. The Defenders have the plug zip tied and tucked up in the dash. Find that plug and connect it to this switch and it will work fine. I added it to my Max model.

Answer:	Yes, it is safe to use with septic systems.

Answer:	It contains citric acid and sodium bisulfate. Does an exceleent job of cleaning. The racks slide in and out so much easier.
Question:	How long are the cables
Answer:	Well, it can be run with dishes in the diswasher if you want to. It also has a pleasant, lemony scent. Bleach, especially in such a small concentration, does not do much for hard water build up/lime scale. For that you need something acidic. If you don't want to use these tablets, a cup or two of vinegar (apple cider vinegar smells better, but any vinegar will do) works fairly well. I have also sprinkled baking soda in the grate in the bottom of my dishwasher, then poured the vinegar in and let it sit a few minutes before running the dishwasher to clean it. The reaction of the vinegar and baking soda helps loosen bits of food residue caught in the grates.

Answer:	No, the main interesting ingredient here is citric acid, which will remove the "hard" water buildup (calcium and magnesium minerals) from the dishwasher, along with anything odor-causing that's living in that buildup. The only thing that'll get your dishwasher cleaning dishes properly again is putting phosphate back in the dishwasher detergent (it was taken out by all the manufacturers in 2010 because some, not even all, the states banned it). You can either go through some contortions to buy sodium hexametaphosphate and add it to regular detergent or buy something like Bubble Bandit (which gets around the bans, even in those legislatively-misguided states, by claiming to be for commercial dishwashing machines) which still has plenty of phosphate in it. You could also try one of the fancy multi-compartment detergent pods (the highest-end Cascade as well as Finish Quantum, possibly others, but do your research for which ones actually work), but those are pretty expensive, especially since the different-colored compartments aren't just a gimmic (likeI, cynically, originally thought) but are actually supposed to release different chemicals at different times in the rinse cycle. Phosphates will both get your dishwasher cleaning again and prevent the buildup in the first place. Their removal from dishwasher detergents is a faux-environmentalism scam, as those contributed less to less than 1% of the phosphates in wastewater, even in those places where phosphate concentrations were a legitimate problem (which is not even everywhere). The biggest culprit is, unsurprisingly, industrial pollution, and that's, equally unsurprisingly, still not banned, despite everyone's dishwashers having been rendered useless. Why pay more for fancy pods with unknown-impact chemicals when good, old phosphates do the job perfectly well?
