12 best mini itx cases
Mini-ITX cases are compact computer cases designed to accommodate Mini-ITX motherboards, which are the smallest mainstream motherboard form factor. These cases are a popular choice for those who want a small and space-efficient computer system. Here's what you need to know about Mini-ITX cases:
Size and Form Factor: Mini-ITX cases are designed to be significantly smaller than standard ATX or micro-ATX cases. They are the smallest consumer PC cases available, which makes them a great choice for compact and portable systems.
Motherboard Compatibility: As the name suggests, Mini-ITX cases are designed to house Mini-ITX motherboards. These motherboards are smaller than Micro-ATX or ATX boards but still provide enough space for essential components.
Compact Build: Due to their compact size, Mini-ITX cases have limited interior space. This means that you need to carefully plan the arrangement of components to ensure everything fits. Cable management can be more challenging in these cases.
Portability: Mini-ITX cases are ideal for those who want a portable computer system. Their small form factor allows you to easily transport your PC to LAN parties or other locations.
Cooling and Ventilation: Cooling options can be limited in Mini-ITX cases due to their size. It's important to choose components like CPU coolers and graphics cards that fit within the case's thermal constraints. Some cases may support smaller liquid cooling solutions.
Graphics Card Length: One of the limitations of Mini-ITX cases is the length of the graphics card they can accommodate. You need to ensure that your chosen graphics card fits within the case dimensions.
Drive Bays: Mini-ITX cases may have fewer drive bays compared to larger cases. Some may support 2.5" or 3.5" storage drives, while others prioritize the use of M.2 SSDs for storage.
PSU Compatibility: Mini-ITX cases often require smaller power supplies to fit within the limited space. Ensure that your PSU is compatible with the case you choose.
Aesthetics: Mini-ITX cases come in various designs and styles to suit different preferences, from minimalist and sleek to more intricate and gaming-oriented designs.
Build Considerations: Building a system in a Mini-ITX case can be more challenging due to the limited space and cable management. It's important to carefully plan your build, use modular components, and be patient during the assembly process.
Mini-ITX cases are an excellent choice for users who value a small footprint, portability, and aesthetics. They are commonly used for HTPCs (Home Theater PCs), gaming systems, and compact workstations. When selecting a Mini-ITX case, consider your intended use, cooling requirements, and the components you plan to install to ensure everything fits and functions properly in the limited space.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this fit two 2.5" ssd and two 3.5 hdd" at the same time |
Answer: | A 500w power supply should be sufficient. However, that would not correlate to the overheating of the graphics card. I'd make sure that your case has proper ventilation to keep the system temperature as low as possible. Here is a link to a guide for proper CPU tower cooling practices: https://www.neweggbusiness.com/smartbuyer/over-easy/pc-cooling-how-to-set-up-computer-case-fans/. |
Question: | Will the glass panel fit on the nr200? are there any differences between the nr200p and the nr200 besides the nr200p shipping with the glass panel |
Answer: | If your model has a PCIe X16 slot and an expansion bay for it, it should work. Please check with HP if you are unsure. |
Question: | Will the vented panel be sold separately as an accessory |
Answer: | Yes. PNY's website indicates it can run 4 monitors, but there are three mini DisplayPort outputs (along with 3 miniDP to DP adapters) so it can definitely run 3. http://www.pny.com/nvidia-quadro-p400 |
Question: | How many 2.5” drives will this hold |
Answer: | Yes it did, 3, and it drives 3 1080p monitors w/o problem on a workstation that does not have high graphic demands put on it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can you put a hard drive in it |
Answer: | You can install a 3.5 hard drive in the back of the case on the bottom It also has 2 spots in the back of the case for two 2.5 hard drive great case I love mine |
Question: | I see questions of whether rtx cards will fit, but how bad is the card starved of air? it looks like the card would hug the psu cover very tightly |
Answer: | If you’re spending rtx money step up to something with more vents on top so you can exhaust your hot air out better. The c mesh has pretty good airflow |
Question: | Will a 3.2 gen 1 header on motherboard work with the gen 2 type c port on the case |
Answer: | It is all a bit confusing. They renamed the former USB 3.0 to now call it USB 3.2 Gen 1. That is the big connector (19 pin/20 pin plug with the notch in one side) that connects to the USB 3 port on most motherboards. My new NZXT case with a type C USB port on the front has a cable with a much smaller connector on the end. It doesn't fit into the usual USB 3.0 socket on the motherboard. My Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro motherboard does have a USB type C header (with USB 3.1 Gen 1 Support) that matches the cable plug. So, you need that USB type C header on your motherboard. It is small. If you have one, then plug it in. If you don't have one on your motherboard, then you would need an adapter to be able to plug the cable into the usual USB 3.0 (19/20 pin) header. |
Question: | Will the gigabyte b450m micro atx motherboard fit with this case |
Answer: | No, this case fits Mini ITX. The H510i (or 710) will fit a Micro ATX board though. |

User questions & answers
Question: | will a wraith spire cpu cooler fit |
Answer: | Only if you use a sfx power supply. If you try and use a standard ATX power supply it will not fit. |
Question: | Can I use a stock cooler with a standard size psu (evga |
Answer: | I can vouch for the Intel stock cooler, but I'm uncertain about the AMD varieties. The Intel stock cooler clears a full size PSU easily. |
Question: | The white/quiet edition case dimensions are stated to be larger than the other models in the specs. Is this true or a typo by the seller/ Amazon |
Answer: | Hello,The size that Amazon references in their specifications is the size of the retail packaging (the box that the case comes in). The SG13's all have the same physical size and do not vary between the quiet and different colored versions. |
Question: | Can I fit a normal size psu in this b |
Answer: | Yes, I fit a cooler master v750 in mine. |
Product features
Two front panel types:
Choose mesh for maximum airflow in gaming systems or solid for quieter operation in home office and home theater systems.
Two color choices:
Choose black for a more subdued look, or black-on-white for a uniquely-classy look.
Impressive compatibility:
Despite the SG13 measuring just 11.22" deep, it can accommodate video cards up to 10.5" long, including all reference-design Nvidia GeForce-based models.
Internal configuration options:
The SG13 features an ATX-compatible power supply mount and can fit ATX power supplies up to 150mm long, which provides clearance for CPU coolers up to 61mm tall. Optionally, builders can choose an SFX power supply if used with the separately-available SilverStone PP08B ATX-to-SFX adapter. This will provide an additional 21mm of space inside the chassis, thereby allowing the use of CPU coolers up to 82mm tall.
The SG13 also gives builders options when it comes to storage. It can fit one 3.5" drive and one 2.5" drive, or alternatively three 2.5" drives.
Finally, builders have the choice of running the SG13 without active cooling, adding a 120mm/140mm fan to the front panel, or adding a 120mm/140mm CPU cooler to the front panel. Note that 140mm products will reduce space available for video cards, so for example a 25mm-thick 140mm-class fan will take up approximately 1" of the 10.5" video card space, leaving 9.5" for a video card.

Question: | How do I get the liquid coolant system? And does it come with all the parts needed to put it together |
Answer: | You buy the liquid coolant system you want that will fit in it. It comes pretty much put together... the cooling system in the photo doesn't come with the case. |
Question: | where will optical drives be mounted |
Answer: | I like this case but it is no go without at least 2 5.25" externally accessible drive bays for DVD/Bluray. In addition, there is no where to mount a USB 3.1 Gen 2 5.25 front panel. It's like they designed in everything and forgot about 5.25" accessories or something. |
Question: | What all come with this tower what does it include |
Answer: | Sorry, Frank - but why would any of us care about the opinion of how it looks coming from someone who appears to be so classless themself? More importantly, why doesn't Amazon provide a way to report such useless answer as your but instead leaves the rest of us to wade through them to find actually helpful info by people with intelligence? |

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the actual case dimensions? in inches, amazon says (l x w x h) (15.4 x 15.4 x 19), thermaltake says (h x w x d) (13.2 x 12.6 x |
Answer: | I'm not sure what those numbers are from Amazon, but Thermaltake's numbers are by far closer to reality. Actually, I think Thermaltake's numbers are pretty much spot on, but the height and length numbers they're quoting have the back thumbscrews and bottom legs included. The actual shell itself, yielding usable space, is roughly along the lines of: L x W x H = 16.25 in. x 12.6 in. x 12.6 in. Again, those are rough numbers, but when you add in the thumbscrew and leg lengths, you end up with approximately the measurements given by Thermaltake.Amazon's numbers are simply wrong. |
Question: | Will the cooler master hyper 212 evo fit |
Answer: | It depends. The mATX Core 21 will fit the 212 Evo. But, the mITX variant, is too short to fit one. |
Question: | Does it use a standard size ATX PSU |
Answer: | Yes It does, There is a length limitation of around 200 mm on the psu, but the vast majority are in 140 to 180 mm range should not be any problem. Most psus will fit fine. |
Question: | Why is this #1 bestseller in handheld vacuum bags |
Answer: | It effectively tears a hole in the space time continuum, where all of your vacuumed whatnot disappears to. It's saving the planet, one rube at a time! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with a power supply? If not, what would be recommended |
Answer: | Does not come with a power supply, but it's very flexible. Just make sure if you get an ATX motherboard that you get an ATX power supply (or micro, mini power supply). I'm using a non-modular that will require a lot of cable hiding, but there's plenty of space to hide cables out of the way. |
Question: | Can someone give me the exact specs to this case like width length and hight and also how much room is there for a CPU cooler |
Answer: | Everything you request is listed in the manufacturer's info above for the Cooler Master Cosmos II, but some of it conflicts with these answers. For example, CPU cooler height is shown as 190mm/7.48" (not 6.5mm/2.5"), which is more consistent with the large size/width of the case itself. It seems like these comments are not all about this case, so I suggest anyone considering it do his/her own research. |
Question: | To anyone who built in this case, and installed a non modular psu, how was it? I was thinking about buying a non modular sfx |
Answer: | I did. A PC&Power Cooling 1KW SR PSU that's about 12-15 years old and still going strong. The unused cables, just folded each cable and zip ties them and tucked them behind it. The PSU is huge too. It almost reaches the bottom HDD cages. Another benefit of this case as it won't fit in a lot of cases. |
Question: | Can this support three(3) red LED 80 mm fans? thanks |
Answer: | I believe it will only support two 80mm in the lower rear section of the case. The other rear fan on the upper section is a 120mm fan, as are the front two (or four if you double up with a radiator.) There is also a 240mm fan mounting on the top. |

Elite 130
Just because you don't have the space, doesn't mean you can't build big. The Elite 130 is a small Mini-ITX case intended to hold some big time hardware. With room for modern full-length graphics cards, it means having a system that can handle anything you throw at it without taking up the space you'd expect. A system inside the Elite 130 would feel just as at home on a desk as it would in a home theater system.

Answer: | Kyle at Bitwit (on youtube) managed to get a 30mm Kraken 120 rad and a 15mm 120 fan there, but there was maybe only 3-5mm comfortably left. When he was using a 25mm fan, it was at the top and had zero airflow. He can run an OC'd 6700k at 65 degrees under load now. He used a short GPU card and just ended by the 2nd fan area. |
Question: | Does it come with fans |
Answer: | No. You need a SFX Psu, not a standard ATX. |
Question: | Psu - never built a system with sfx ps. what are people using with this case |
Answer: | I used a Noctua LH L9 on an I7 8700K. At sustained full load it keeps the processor under 90C, which isn't great but acceptable to me. I use a laptop fan pad under the case and keep the case flat. It works. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does case require low profile memory. If so could i get a recommendation for 8g. For intel i3 build. Never built a system |
Answer: | Not specifically, but some of the taller memory may be an issue. I used a set of Team Group T-Force Vulcan Z ( TLZGD416G3200HC16CDC01) in one of my builds and it was fine. As far as a suggestion, it depends on your motherboard. I would suggest going to the MFG website and looking at the Memory compatibility list. Of if you want to cheat use PCPartpicker. They are usually pretty good with compatibility. |
Question: | Does this fit 15mm 2.5" HDD |
Answer: | Yes -- it will hold 2 15mm drives. When you remove the bottom panel the drive area is just over 15mm high. |
Question: | Is there a way i can upgrade the psu? i need closer to 400 watts |
Answer: | Basically, no, the case has specialize PSU form so the option to upgrade is pretty much limited. Unless you're willing to use a Pico PSU or a more general term: a combination of a AC-DC adapter and a DC-DC ATX converter. And a more extreme method that I did is heavily modify the case to the point that void warranty to fit in an flexPSU inside it (I'm not recommend this). |
Question: | Is there room to put An El Gato capture card |
Answer: | No, no room for expansion cards. |
