This problem can be caused by both hardware (i.e. input transistor failure) or software (i.e. O.S. updates, but drivers are dated, improper microphone level settings in both the O.S. or the DAW). If you have "man-handled" the interface, or have not shut the unit down properly, you might have caused electronic damage to very sensitive input circuits. This could be by something as an easily overlooked static charge applied to said circuits while gains are set very high. I would start with looking at the audio settings in my system's O.S., and then uninstall and reinstall the unit's driver software. The way I read that is you have one spot for a sustain, and two for expression (rocker type) pedals. One rocker controls rotary speed, the other controls effects/sound voulumes.

Question: Can you connect an external USB hard drive for file storage
Answer: This is very small gauge hook up wire and is not designed for voltages above 90 or 100 volts. They are fine for 12 to 48 volt systems with low current. Do not use them for 120 volt AC ! The insulation could break down and cause a fire or worse. The intended use is for 3.3 to 12 volt computer connections carrying signals that are low current.
Question: can i connect to my pc and use its keyboard and use my pc's screen as a monitor so i can take it out like make it portable
Answer: Yes, if you cut off the connectors the wires are 7 inches long. They are 9 strand wire and strip cleanly. These are actually 40 conductor ribbon cable with individual connectors on each end. The individual conductors separate easily. There are ten different wire colors.
Question: Will the heat sinks and internal fan prevent the raspberry pi from overheating if I overclock it
Answer: Yes it does. I don't have access to the unit at this time. You can use headers if you want to put on another board.
Question: What noobs version is preinstalled
Answer: This hat definitely works with Raspberry Pi 3 (Jessie) without giving up the Bluetooth. I went through the Adafruit tutorials too and got mine to work. I also Google searched "raspberry pi 3 serial port enable" and found the post "Configuring The GPIO Serial Port On Raspbian Jessie Including Pi 3 ..." quite helpful. You have to keep in mind that the Adafruit tutorials seem to be written for a Pi 2 (no bluetooth, one serial port) and so the serial port device of the GPIO Tx/Rx pins on a Pi 3 is /dev/serial1 (not /dev/serial0 as described in the tutorial).

Answer: Yes 5 volts can damage the raspberry pi GPIO, but if you have a sensor that outputs 5 volts you can use a voltage divider circuit to drop the input voltage down to 3.3v a simple example would be to use a 1k resistor and 2k resistor with the GPIO pin between the two two resistors and the 1k tied to the sensor output, and the 2k tied to ground. The 1k would drop 1.67v and that would give you 3.3v on the GPIO pin input.
Question: If you have a heatsink on the raspberry pi will the case still fit
Answer: With an I/O or Breadboard, yes. I'm using the kit with a Raspberry pi 3.

Answer: Do a google search on the part number for the sensor. An example is "KY-002" for Vibration sensor. You'll find pretty good examples both for Raspberry Pi and Arduino (which also works on ESP32 -my favorite microcontroller). Amazon discourages links as a security risk.
Question: Does it come with connectors
Answer: Search the web for the part number: "KY-0xx" and you'll find great reference materials for the parts.

Question: is this Rev 1.2 and does it have slot to mount camera on case
Answer: You can make these portable but the kit doesn't include a source of battery power. The pi has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities though. I've only used mine as a desktop replacement but options abound for battery power, touch screens, laptop chassis etc. You can easily power it down and take it anywhere if you were going from one location to the the next. Keyboard and monitor connectivity is standard. As long as you have USB for the keyboard and hdmi to the monitor.
Question: Can I install a full version of Linux Mint
Answer: I am not overclocking my Raspberry Pi 4 as it seems to be running fast enough for my needs as a media server. I can say it is running very cool as it came not only with the heat sinks, but it also has a fan for the case. My system has been running 24/7 since December 2019.
Question: What can my advanced 12 year old son do with this Raspberry Pi
Answer: Almost the newest version depending on when the card was loaded. But once the Pi is connect to a ISP, it will ask if you want to update the device.

Question: What size screws are needed to mount the base into a surface? I wish it came with some. It has the hold for it
Answer: The holes in the base are 3.2 mm in diameter. But you could drill then out to 7 mm in diameter if needed. You can also use the included small mounts to mount the case to a surface. They would use are a 45 degree countersink screw with max diameter of 4 mm.
Question: Can't get official 7" display to fit. If the board is oriented the correct way to get the cables to reach through, then the case blocks the board
Answer: Are you using the gold screws to secure the display control board as shown in step 1? Can you make sure the display is going into the case the correct orientation? See step 2. If you are still having issues please contact us directly and we can troubleshoot.
