Actually, whenever you press the click surface down (and note the entire touch surface is actually one big clickable button, not the design I'd have gone with, but whatever), it will always default to a left click if you are touching the left side of the touchpad, even if you are touching the right side with another finger (also, unlike a normal laptop touchpad, a 2 finger tap will not do a right-click). Note this also means you cannot do a right-click while resting your other fingers on the upper portion of the mouse like you could with a traditional mouse.

Turning off the power saving feature for your bluetooth adapter in the device manager fixed it for me. Device Manager > Bluetooth > Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) > Right-Click > Properties > Power Management Tab > Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power > Uncheck
