Answer:	I'm no expert, but it seems to be some sort of nylon material. It is soft and padded in the center area where you would put your lap top. There are leather accents on the various flaps and straps for the numerous pockets inside. The material seems to be quite durable as is the bag itself. As I said in my review, this bag will definitely outlive me. I get a lot of compliments on it (by almost every person who comes in contact with me when I have it, in fact). Hope this helps somewhat.
