Answer: No, but this thing does not use that much power even at 1600 dpi, I change batteries every 8-12 months . Buy a pack of amazon triple AAA and you'll have enough batteries for life. Great mouse I use for gaming (CODCW/BF4) and in the office for graphic design. Great mouse, not cheap at almost $30 but best in it's price range. Light weight rubbery feel.

Answer: So, I just bought this on 8/2020. I'm on a mac and the back/forward thumb buttons are working normally out of the box; I didn't do anything. I knew they weren't suppose to, but perhaps Anker fixed this?

Answer: Depends on usage, I'd guess, but my mouse has been working well ever since I bought it (8-10-2015), without needing batteries replaced very often, at all. Recently, I noticed it was needing batteries more often, so just to be sure, I dated the last pair I put in - 3.5 months ago. I was annoyed to have to change them again so soon, as I've usually long since forgotten about batteries, the next time it dies, but this time was close enough to recall. I put in the new batteries, but the mouse was still dead. Not sure if the old batteries are even dead yet (but the mouse is, hence my being here looking to replace it). If you consider 3.5 months to be a fast death to the batteries, then this is the shortest time to death I've had in the 5 years I've had this mouse. Lots of others seem cool with it needing changing every 2 months, but I found 3.5 a bit soon, so just depends on expectations. I kinda think close to a year is more like it. Of course, I only use my mouse 3-5 hours a day, 7 days a week, so perhaps I've just been really lucky so far. Either way, 5 years is by far the longest I've ever had a mouse last (by about 4 years!), and the money I save on annual mouse replacement will more than offset any battery usage issues that may develop. I also like the feel of this mouse better. Once you get used to it, you will too. Certainly helps with my wrist problems (carpal tunnel), and arthritis).

Answer: I have small hands as well. It is not the best size for me. Too BIG. For more information about my hand size, Logitech m310 and m325 is too small. Logitech m705 is a little big. Logitech m510 and m525 is good to grab but ther are heavy because of 2AA batteries. TeckNet 2600DPI Bluetooth Wireless Mouse is the best size I've found so far. I hope Anker produces a smaller version of it. Regarding wrist pain, it is helpful if you are well adapted in this weird shaped mouse.

Answer: According to the instruction manual at Anker's website."When adjusting DPI to the first level (800 DP), the blue LED bar will blink once, when adjusting to the second level, the blue LED bar will blink twice, etc."

Answer: No. You would have to contort your hand to use it in your left hand. This contortion would be even worse (greater deviation from a neutral hand position) than if a left-handed individual used a traditional mouse. Hopefully they make a left hand version as lefties do make up an estimated 8-10% of the world population (Barsley, 1970).

Answer: The thumb buttons are recognized on Mac OS as a 4th & 5th button, they just don't work (out of the box) on fwd/back. You can map them in system preferences to Mission Control functions (like show windows, etc.) or you can get the free BetterTouchTool software and map them to any keyboard shortcut (such as fwd/back or copy/paste, etc.) you'd like.
Question: how comfortable is for large hands
Answer: 6'5" and if I hold it such that my palm is supported by the back of the mouse, i.e. the webbing of my thumb is actually touching the back of the mouse, like you see in most pictures, my fingers overshoot the end by a whole segment. It's way too small for me. Basically I either have to move my fingers back and have the back of my hand be unsupported with a really awkward thumb grip or have a nice grip support while clicking with the middle segments of my fingers. Hold your hand out facing upward and measure from the tip of your index finger to just passed the bump where your knuckle is. Mine is ~12.5cm which I feel is about 2cm too long for this mouse. So if you're like 10.5 or maybe even 11 or less it will probably be more comfortable, lengthwise anyway. Also the height of the mouse is such that I have to scrunch my fingers so they don't touch the mouse pad. Knuckle to knuckle I'm about 9cm across, and I wish the mouse was about 1 or 2 cm taller.

It is recommended that you safely remove the drive before you hit that power switch on the hub.I have this hub and use it to access 1 4TB drive, 2 5TB drives and 1 8TB drive. That is a LOT of data to loose just because I got lazy.The one reason to have switches on a hub is so that you can have the drives OFF when not in use. Answer: I have been unable to connect my WD My Cloud to the capsule so far. I even attempted to install Plex into the WDMyCloud. Suggestions appreciated.

Answer: It does work with Plex - BUT - the Plex client on the device is using the Android TV interface. This means that it's missing a bunch of features over the normal Android version, like syncing content to the device. The nVidia Shield TV has similar issues. But as long as you can connect it to WiFi, it works great to stream videos and music.

Answer: To the account that said no device stops while charging if you are speaking on projectors perhaps so but ever had a vape can’t use them while they charging

Answer: Works great with the iPhone. Download the app and you can control the capsule easily. You can also airplay to the projector from your iPhone. Anything you have on your screen will be mirrored through the projector. Photos and videos look great. Keep in mind that copyrighted materials, like hbo go movies and such will not be able to airplayed. In that case, you’d need to hook it up via hdmi.

Question: I want a hub to give 5v to my blue yeti mic., as well as to power a wd 3tb portable drive. i need powered and data ports. 3.0 is future proofing
Answer: The IQ ports just provide power. They don't provide a data connection. So you'd need a data connection that delivered 1.3 amps. Some drives provide a "Y" cable that allows you to connection to two ports. One of them is the data connection, the other is providing just additional power. The data ports on this provide .9 amps each so you could use two of those or figure out which connection on the "Y" cable is data and which is just power and connect the one that is just power up to the IQ port. If you just have one USB connection on your cable you might need to find another hub that provides 1.3 Amps (i.e. 1300 mA) or more.
Question: Some of the usb ports (data sync) have stopped working.Is this a common issue
Answer: The light on my HyperX Cloud 2 stays on. And my Laptop Cooling Pad (fan) stays running. So I would say the power stays on.

Answer: You can connect data transfer devices like hard drives to ports 1 and 7 and they will operate the same as with ports 2 through 6.

Ports 1 & 7 on the USB3-HUB7C are BC 1.2 charge ports, so they will charge any connected USB devices that supports BC 1.2 charging abilities, and this will not be change even if the hub is connected to a macOS or Windows based system. Due to the hub having its own Power Supply, as long as the hub is on, it does not even have to be connected to a host system in order for ports 1 & 7 to charge connected devices. Answer: Yes I have used two USB 3.0 non-powered drives without issues with this hub. It will take different combinations of USB 2.0 and 3.0 drives as well including flash as well as normal hard drives (haven't tried with SSD's). It's been reliable and doesn't cause drives to drop out either, like some other makes of hubs do.

Question: can all seven ports be used for data transfer, or are some for charging only
Answer: Do the external drives to be connected to the hub have their own power source? If they are intended to run off of the power of the hub, you may have problems. This is my speculation based on the note under the product description stating the product should not be used with WD passport hard drives. I have several of those, each 1TB, and they run off the power of the hub. Currently, they are plugged into USB 2.0 ports, but they are USB 3.0 compatible products used as "backwards compatible," and run very slowly with USB 2.0, but they run. With USB 3.0, there is evidently a reason they are not supposed to be used. So, I would say it depends on whether the external hard drives have their own power source and, specifically, if they are WD passport drives, the product information I saw said they should not be used with this hub.

Answer: power supply is wall to brick then brick to hub. brick is about 4 x 2 x 1.5. my brick sits on a shelf with other bricks powering my system.
Question: Is this hub able to work at all without the power supply? If i only need to use 1 or 2 of the ports
Answer: A normal USB hub will not deliver power when the computer is off or disconnected. This specific unit has one port (the "Smart Charging Port") which is designed to deliver power without a computer, but the other ports will not. When attached to a computer, the other 9 ports will deliver power, but only to the limits of the USB spec. This is a maximum of 500mA (2.5W) for USB 2.0 devices or 900mA (4.5W) for USB 3.0 devices. This is enough to charge devices, but it will almost certainly be slower than using the charging port, which can deliver 2.1A (10.5W)
Question: How many hdds can i plug without them affecting the speed
Answer: 5 amps. But the power supply is 12 volts, so in reality the USB-devices you connect can pull way more than that since the USB ports are only 5 volts.Remember that volts multiplied with amps equals wattage (so 12 volts times 5 amps equals 60 watts). Nine USB ports providing a maximum of 0.9 amps times 5 volts equals 40½ watts, and then you have a charger port of 2.1 amps times 5 volts which equals 11 watt. So in theory, if you fill up the entire device with USB-devices that can draw maximum power from all the ports, the maximal power draw should be around 51½ watt, which is less than the power supply provides. Therefore, this hub should never give you any disconnects because of too huge a power draw, which was a frequent problem with my old USB hub.

Question: Does anyone know if this is truly usb 3.1? there is a "customer image" that shows it isn't and i wanted to be 100% before i purchased
Answer: This is what would be considered USB 3.1 Gen 1 which is what we used to call USB 3.0. This means that it will do 5 Gbps.
Question: can i connect to my 2tb Seagate hard-drive
Answer: Yes. You don't necessarily need Seagate's cord, but you will need an external power supply for the HD. I use my Seagate 2TB drive with a powered hub in between to power it, as my phone (LG VX20) can't supply enough power for the drive by itself. Works just fine! I understand there are also special cords you can use which allow you to plug the drive into this adapter for data and a wall charger for power, but I have not personally tried that solution because I already had the powered hub.

Question: Is this 3.1 or 3.0? Says 5mbps but shouldn't it be 10mbps for
Answer: USB 3.0 is now called USB 3.1 Gen 1 with speeds up to 5Gbps. USB 3.1 Gen 2 offers speeds up to 10Gbps. The product specification states that it is USB 3.1 with speeds up to 5Gbps which leads me to believe it's USB 3.1 Gen 1 (formerly USB 3.0).
