Answer:	Buy a static arrestor to go in line w/your coax cable and mount it low to the ground. You can get a ground rod at any home center w/copper wire and associated clamps. I see no evidence of component or circuitry to make it active. Searching for active cables only returned an adapter to provide the active part. Try searching for active cables and you will see them. I did use it briefly to test a new 4K TV and the image quality was excellent. On both instances they were hooked to the same PC and the GPU I have on that is an XFX's Radeon R9 380X. Answer:	Should be fine, long as the monitor is built for VGA input. If you want a higher resolution/refresh potential, then I'd think about maybe using HDMI or Display Port (assuming your monitor and computer both support it)
