Answer:	I only own one of the two; however, a USB cable is a USB cable in my book. If you have an application that may risk a cord being occasionally & inadvertently yanked out, go with the heavier cord. Otherwise, there should be no functional difference between the two cords under regular use.

Answer:	The cable, itself, needs no power. It's just a cable. The device you plug it into may need more juice. In this sense, the cable is more like a single port powered (optionally) usb hub. If you find that whatever device you are hooking to the end of this thing needs more power, any universal power block that outputs 5V and has a multi-adaptor set of ends will do fine. FWIW, I have extended the positioning of my Oculus Rift sensors flawlessly using these cables, without any AC power.

Answer:	I've not tried it, as I use these for all my sensors. I just use the Monoprice USB 2.0 active extension that came with one of my extra sensors. The headset doesn't need to be used with USB 3.0 and works just fine connected to USB 2.0.

Answer:	Only if the existing *unpowered* hub, two controllers, and WiFi adapter already work without this cable in between. Remember, there is already a hub *inside* this cable, and that hub is powered by the source/computer. Your new setup will be cable hub -> other hub -> 3 more things. The cable hub probably doesn't draw much, but if your other hub -> 3 more things setup is already at the power limit for USB this is cable will push it over the edge and the setup won't work.
