I ended up ordering this item again...I have a pink one and a lime green one....perhaps yours is a different color or perhaps the dye has a different smell...just a thought. Sunshine and fresh air do wonders for airing something out or a fresh rain storm as well...it is spring time...maybe put it on the line during a rainy day and let the sun dry it out.
