Answer:	Cat 8 is real, it is recognized by TIA/EIA and is designed for data centers. That being said I highly doubt this cable is really Cat 8 considering the gauge is way too small compared to real Cat 8 that runs 22 gauge wires. not to mention that the spec for Cat 8 connectors are not these, these are Cat 7 (not recognized by TIA/EIA BTW, only by ISO/IEC) connectors. This cable seems to be a mix of Cat 6 and Cat 7 and not true Cat 8.

The length of your cables should really be the deciding factor for upgrading. If you're not wiring up Ethernet ports and only utilizing wireless internet from a router, then yes.. get a high end patch cable, but what's more important is the type of patch cable.. the gauge affects resistance which generates heat, whether shielded, unshielded, foiled, twisted, crossed, etc. There's pros and cons to each depending on their application, but it's doubtful your ISP's bill would be one of them.

The original specification uses a proprietary plug (GG45) that is RJ45 compatible but fully shielded and hard to find. This listing is not for true Cat7. The one commenter that says it uses a special connector that cant be used in a home environment is also wrong as the GG45 connector is indeed backward compatible with a standard RJ45 jack. As these cables offered do not have the GG45 plug (they are indeed full shield but are not actually GG45), they are not actually Cat7 cables and are fake.

Answer:	Many months ago I purchased category 6 type A ethernet cables by mistake, and found they were constructed different from category 5e, or category 7. I found that category 5e, and Category 7 cables, were compatible with each other. Category 5e, and category 7, were all type B cables that I was using with my router for years. Category 6 was type A. Category 6 type A cables could be too different from Category 7 cables, so I didn't want to find out, and returned the cables without using them at all. Diagrams for the wires used in these cables were different. Cross over cables are used when people directly link a computer to another computer without any router, or any switch box. Category 5e type B, and category 7 type B, are used with routers, and switch boxes, between the computers. I would also like to know more about category 6 type A cables? If it won't work you may have burned circuits.

Question:	Which RJ45 Cap would you recommend
Answer:	I don't think this is designed for outdoor use. However, if the installation is such that the connectors are protected from moisture, you may be OK, for a while anyway.
Question:	What features make this classify as Direct Burial
Answer:	My piece did not come with a drain wire. I had to solder a ground wire to the metal jacket surrounding one of the connectors. I verified with an ohmmeter that the two jackets are electrically connected.
Question:	Cat7 works from router to router and to newer macbook. but it won't work with my older macbooks, 10 & 20 years old. frequency and/or driver issue

Question:	Is this cable UV/Sunlight resistant
Answer:	Yes. It is a rugged, well-protected and rather stiff cable so be sure of length required as it is not easy to bunch it into too small a space & short by a little does not work! I bought the 5' + 10' + 15' for connection however my set up. The 15' runs under a rug. Works great.
