Hi Joey, I think there has been some confusion. The product page clearly states that this cable is "Unshielded Twisted Pair" (UTP) on the first paragraph in the product description. I also think you have mis-understood what the shielding does, it only protects the data travelling along the inner copper cables from interference from other cables that may have been run alongside or electrical sources outside of the cable and it has nothing to do with indoor or outdoor use.This cable is definitely 24 AWG which is measured and rated by the thickness of the 100% Copper Core we use, in this case 0.55mm. The thicker the core the better the cable and the lower the AWG rate is. This cable is advertised as outdoors because we have used HDPE (High-Density PolyEthylene) material for the outer jacket which offers greater protection from water, heat, sunlight and is able to operate in temperatures from -10c to 60c. The outer jackets for indoor cables are usually PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) a different material to our cable jacket. As Amazon allows other sellers to sell their products (of similar description) from our page it could be that their products are inferior and used cheaper materials and that you have purchased this cable rather than purchase an actual Cable Souring product.If you have any other questions regarding the manufacture and design of this cable or how to use it, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Answer:	Its cheaply made unshielded CAT5e cable from CHINA and will probably cause you plenty of headaches and grief once installed assuming it works at all 🤓 I highly recommend you check out True Cables outdoor/burial CAT6 FTP Ethernet cable. Its solid copper, made in the USA, and being shielded should provide you with years of problem-free operation. Just make sure you get some shielded connectors with the load bars because its easier to get the proper twist spacing in the connector unlike the pass-through connectors!
Question:	Are these shielded or unshielded
Answer:	In applications like cameras and other devices that require the cable to provide power with Ethernet look away. I’m running a NAS and just need a cable that can handle 1 gig speeds. For POE use cat 6A. I run cat 7 for data but in the future will Run cat 6A for cameras and cat 5e for voice. Seems that’s the best setup.

Answer:	Late to the party, but the previous "answers" shocked me so I wanted to say something. All manufactured "patch cables" are in fact made with stranded conductors (the eight individual copper wires). Solid core conductors are found in what we call "structured cabling" -- longer runs and permanent installations; in walls, ceilings, data center installations. Bottom line: "patch cord" = Stranded cable. This is according to the industry standards; of course there's nothing stopping you from making a patch cord from that box of solid core cable you inherited when you started your "IT" job.
