Since I was upgrading my OS at the same time I installed the card first, then installed fresh OS on the connected SSD and it booted with no issues other than the speed discrepancies I referred to. Not certain about the AHCI question, but I believe it will.

Question:	Will this finally allow me to play my 24 bit music files on my PC at it's native 24 bit resolution
Answer:	We are also having trouble with our iMac as well. We have put music on the player, but once we disconnect it for the computer & start the it, we don’t see the music. :/ Here are the steps we went through. ... 1. Take the mini card out of the player (push down and it will pop out ) and insert it into a card reader that you put into the USB port on your computer. 2. The card should now be visible on your computer. 3. Open the card & create a folder named “my music”. 4. Open iTunes on computer and click on the three dots to the far right of a song. (TIP: Might look like the song length in minutes before scrolling over it with your mouse.) 5. And then select COPY from the drop down menu. 6. Go back into the “my music” folder on the card and press OPTION + Click and select PASTE. (Some songs don’t have that option and I don’t know why) 7. Do this with each song you want to add to your card. We only fit about 10 songs because this card that comes with the device is small. You can get a bigger card however. 8. Throw the card into the trash and pull the card reader out of your laptop. Then insert the card back into the device. 9. Follow the woman’s instructions in the first question that’s posted above. 10. HOWEVER: We found our folder labeled “my music”, but nothing is inside of it, despite seeing all the music inside it when it’s in our computer. :/ we also experimented with putting it in different spots on the card, inside and outside of folders. And they never showed up. I think it might be an issue with reading Apple M4p music files since they are somewhat proprietary to Apple devices. The song that comes with the device is an MP3. We might have to just download MP3 music from somewhere on the Internet OR buy the kids Apple iPod Touches for $199. LOL. I will post here if I figure anything out.
