Answer:	I am a maritime pilot and I have used it on board a vessel. It's function is good and reliable at sea. But I am notsure its fuction if you use it in the mountain for hunting because there is no obstruction at sea whereas many obstruction in the mountain. Its transmitting output is 3 watt. Answer:	The radio has FCC certificate for Part 80, so most boaters don't need any additional license for operation within the rules, including use of your ship's callsign on shore adjacent to tthe waterway, at 1 watt, for limited purposes.

Answer:	Not legally. The 25X2 can be programmed to FRS and GMRS frequencies however it is not legal. FRS/GMRS radios have antenna and Tx power restrictions that the 25X2 does not meet. Do a search on FRS/GMRS and you will find lots of information.

Answer:	The unit I purchased included a 120v AC adapter. If using a universal type AC charger, make sure to pay attention to the voltage/amperage/polarity requirements as you can destroy electronics very easily if using the wrong type. This information can be found in the included manual. We really like this radio for what it is, but do not expect a $500 radio at this price.

Answer:	ANTENNA ANTENNA ANTENNA The extra watts will do less to improve transmission and reception than a quality antenna. As others have said, to increase your signal strength at the receiving radio by one S unit you have to quadruple the power output. The difference between the UV-5R standard radio and the "8 watt" "high power" radios is only a doubling of power. If you are on the move use the Nagoya 771 antenna (and watch you don't poke out your eye). If you are stationary, a homebrew 2 meter dipole or the Ed Fong antenna will significantly improve your transmission and reception. Amateur Extra HAM instructor VP local HAM club

Answer:	With the included antenna, you will get about 10 kilometers on open area land. About 5 kilometers in suburban settings. In urban settings, aabout a kilometer or two. In a boat, a bit further than 10kilometers. With the Nagoya extended antenna, you can make 20 kilometers, more or less, on open ground. However, use an external antenna on the roof of a building and you can double that range! Power does increase range. But, antenna increases range far more than more power.

Answer:	You can program these for whatever frequencies you want by downloading CHIRP and modifying the radio drivers with a text editor... Then just change the frequency range to 900mhz or whatever you want... I would not suggest trying to transmit at those frequencies but people have had some success with receiving frequencies out of band that way... Answer:	You cannot use this radio in any unlicensed frequency. It is not type accepted for any radio service and is therefore illegal to sell, advertise, market, or ship to anywhere in the US. It is probably legal to use in a Ham band if you have a ham license. Ham licenses come with some great benefits, such as being able to use un-aproved radios, it is well worth the effort to get one. BTW, I have two of these radios. They work about as well as a UV-5R, of which they are a derivative They just over-powered a 5 watt radio to make it spit out 8 watts. It gets you VERY little extra distance and the transmission is really really dirty. It blows all over the 2 meter bands. If you want to see what the FCC does to out of service marketing Google "FCC DA-18-980A1". This radio has no legal use in the US except on the ham bands by hams. It is very illegal to use for MURS and FRS, and not even OK for FMRS. It transmits so dirty it is pretty obvious to anyone with a good HR rig with a display or an FCC truck that you are using a BF-F8HP. It's got a rather unique signal signature. If you want a Baofeng get one of these. They are all certified part 90 which makes them legal to sell and ship, and no questions about using them for Ham use. And get a ham license, it really opens up your options. Also, although it says BeiDou, I do not think it can use that as I display only shows GPS and GLONASS satellites and there is not menu setting that I can find to change that. But BeiDou is not needed and less accurage.

Answer:	It comes with a folded sheet of instructions--the instructions are easy to read. The units measure position roughly accurate to about 5m and measure distance and areas with accuracies related to that accuracy. Note: Although the units advertise as doing BeiDou besides GPS and GLONASS, the units that I have received only do GPS and GLONASS. In the photo you can see a row of bars for GPS and a row for GLONASS. There is no third row for BeiDou despite the advertising that it will also use BeiDou.

Answer:	As a matter of fact I changed my battery this morning. I think you mean the type which is a CR2025 which is readily available ar radio shack, staples and pharmacies. The battery is .78 inches in diameter and .1 inches thick. By the way I use my HRM every day of the week and the battery lasts about 14 weeks
