Answer:	The 45oz is plenty heavy enough. If you have a lot of flooring to do, you might get tired of swinging the heavier hammer all day.

Answer:	I can't really answer that question because it is attached so tightly to the hammer head. I highly recommend this hammer. The handle is really tough unlike wood and cushions the blow and it is very well balanced. I love it and would purchase another one but this is still like new after putting in 1000 sq ft of flooring.
