The OLAS device is connected via Bluetooth with a phone or tablet, not with the satellite. It's a MOB (man overboard) alarm device to alert the crew members in case someone falls overboard. The OLAS Float-On can be used on vessels up to 40 feet in length when synced with the OLAS app on a phone or tablet.
