Question:	Does this test dmx or only xlr
Answer:	The manual, which is available on the Behringer website at http://www.behringer.com/assets/CT100_P0133_M_EN.pdf, details the intermittent, open and short test functions. Surprisingly, with 100's of audio cables of all sorts I have not had the need to use this feature so I can't confirm or deny its performance. I'll update if/when I do!
Question:	Verified customer: i've bought two of these now. this pct-40 does well for audio equipment but epic fail of the usb port: source to source? oops
Answer:	First, cables can be plugged directly into the connectors on the box, which is much faster than connecting multi-meter probes. Secondly, intermittent connections can be found by wiggling the cables. Intermittents are indicated with a separate set of LEDs. I checked cables with a multi-meter for years and missed several intermittent connections. This is FAR superior.
Question:	How would I test a subwoofer cable continuity that both ends are about 100' feet apart
Answer:	So glad you find the XLR Sniffer/Sender so useful! The TRS (1/4") version of the tester is not currently available due to a redesign, but will be made available again some time soon!
Question:	This thing says it can test USB but you can only plug in one end, am I missing something
Answer:	Yes. Works well. Once reeled up, I let the water out to relive the pressure in hose. Should extend the life of the hose.

Answer:	This will test 3-pin XLR, but not 4- or 5-pin.

Answer:	In the "cable tester" position, the lights show continuity between input and output connections (i.e. that pins 1, 2, 3 match up on an XLR cable), so you know that cables are wired properly. Then if you hit the "reset" button, and wiggle the cables around, any intermittency (short / break) in the signal will cause a corresponding LED to light up, indicating that you have a faulty cable. The manual doesn't specify specific "patterns" because that will depend on the type of cable, but the manual does explain how to use the device. It's up to you to then interpret what it tells you and decide what to do (i.e. repair the cable, toss and replace it, etc). Question:	Does it check for speaker polarity
Answer:	Yes, it will test TS. We have 2 videos on youtube explaining how this works. I will add a comment with the link in case Amazon wants to block it. Basically your TS cable will bridge pins 1 and 3. So you can tell if it is working correctly, but some extra lights will come on as your sleeve(1) will also touch where the ring conductor (3) is. Pin 2 which is the tip will test normally.
Question:	Is there any special tips for opening the battery compartment? I didn't want to apply too much force in case I am doing it wrong

Answer:	I can't say for certain, but if you think of the piece as a passive, analog volume control and mechanical on/off switch, it should pass phantom power, though maybe not if you "dim" the volume past a certain point. The thing is cheap and works well, so worth a try.

Answer:	Not familiar with the il-19, however, all the ISOBLOX gear is very high quality and works well. I've used these and several other of their devices and they're top notch.

Answer:	Hello, thank you for your interest in the Seismic Audio SACT cable tester. This tester will check for continuity between contact points and tell which pins one one side connect to which pins on the other side. Speaker polarity is typically electrical phasing in nature, and this cannot test for that.

Answer:	While this has proper XLR connectors which lock in place and hold quite well, XLR cables and connectors are not designed for Video use. Typically the wire is not impedance controlled, it is balanced, Video is normally run as an unbalanced line and depending on the type of video, you may be getting into frequencies where XLR devices behave very strangely.
