User questions & answers
Question: | What in your opinion is the best power setting for normal use, "on" or "auto" for this unit |
Answer: | I would say depends if you use the item everyday/constantly as your sound for your surround. Or if you use surround/theater occasionally. If the latter I would use `on/off` , if you use it often or primarily the auto would be the way to go in my opinion. Plus is the sub easy to get to? Auto is great if its behind furniture or out of reach, etc. |
Question: | Does this speaker have a volume control? Thanks |
Answer: | Just to clarify something a previous reviewer stated: "Note: If you are using a Sub out/LFE connection from your receiver turn the Low Pass all the way up. " This does not apply to receivers with which you can specify the low-pass cutover frequency. For example, my modest Onkyo receiver has cutover settings of 80/100/120 HZ for the LFE/Sub output. If you have this option, you should consult your main speaker's manual for suggested low-pass settings or simply tune them by ear. For my setup, 120 HZ was both the recommended and best-sounding cutover frequency. 160 HZ was a little muddy :) |
Question: | Can this sub be added to a Vizio 2.0 sound bar, for small to medium-sized HDTV's? If not, what should I get? For TV/Games/Music |
Answer: | Like John, I too have a Vizio 2.0 sound bar and this pairs very well. I have a small theater room (10 x 20) and this one 10" fills the room. This sub is the best bang for the buck you can get. |
Question: | Do I need a Y-adpater? A sound tech told me one sub wire would do the trick and just plug it into the L and ignore the R. Is this true |
Answer: | Initially, used a one wire connection. Sounded OK, but .... Got a "Y" connector, attached at the rear of the amp, ran L & R wires to the PSW10: sounds amazing now and very adjustable. Need to get the PSW12 to get a one wire connection. Am very satisfied with this sub and would recommend it. Used in a 12' X 20' room, front/back/center and now the sub. Tom |

PowerBass STA-10 Hideaway 10" Amplified Bass Enclosure The STA-10 features an Ultra Efficient Class D mono amplifier perfectly matched to power the 10-inch woofer in an exclusive passive radiator design for more bass in less space. They developed a compact trapezoid shaped enclosure, perfectly tuned to get the most out of the proprietary 10-inch subwoofer. The geometric design maximizes transient response, reducing the negative effects that a small enclosure can have on the subwoofer by dispersing and dissipating standing waves away from the subwoofer and the result is cleaner, deeper bass in a very small space. Supplied with “plug in” connectors for speaker and power, installation is simple and straightforward. User questions & answers
Question: | do you think this subwoofer model is good for a sedan model? do you think it affects considerably listening to the bass? or are those that are insta |
Answer: | I've used it temporarily on the sealed enclosure version of these. BOSS amps are cheap for a reason though. Poor sound quality and it doesn't push anywhere near the 1000 watts these can handle. If you want a cheap amp that actually sounds good I'd recommend the Power Acoustik rzr1-2500d it's not 1000 watts RMS but it'll do 700+ on good electrical & sounds Way better than the boss amp |
Question: | Does it have Speaker Screen cover |
Answer: | I have had these subs in the box 4 going on 6 years with a 3000 watt competition massive amp pushing 800 watts RMS bridged making it 200% overpowered I paid $122 for them six years ago and they are still thumping to this day |
Question: | Does it have auto shut off |
Answer: | Everything you see, you get...no speaker wires though... |
Question: | Isnt 8 awg cables overkill? Why not 10 or 12 awg |
Answer: | Yes it has relief areas for the buttons. But you have to be careful when you put it on or you can turn the unit on by accident. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the impedance |
Answer: | NoI have ran on high level for 3-4 hrs, normal level another 3 hours. Boat still starts on same battery. I have a 2nd battery, but I've never had to use it. Battery's are on there 3rd year. I have been very happy with this purchase. |
Question: | Where can I get a new power/signal connector for this unit |
Answer: | Yes. It's self amplified and sounds great on my boat. |
Question: | Do you have to have to install the external volume control for this to work |
Answer: | That Sir, can be a tricky question. However, you can find them on Amazon and ebay. I would use Amazon. On the back of my band is the number:671 or G71 (a little small to see), followed by the numbers, N11 18. In the past, I have been able to replace them just by typing in replacement watch band for model HDA 600. In any case, best of luck to you. |
Question: | Can I use cigarette socket to power it |
Answer: | To reset the date, you can do change it one of two ways. First, if you pull the crown out you will feel two click (the crown is the little stem on the side of the watch). The first click is just for the date and is about half the total distance the crown can be pulled. You can advance the date using the crown by rotating it, but only advance it. You can not change the date by incrementing it down. The other way is to way is to pull the crown all the way out until it stops and advance the time. The date will advance with each 24 hour rotation of the crown. If the watch is set within the P.M. range, the first time it changes may take less than 24 hours. Changing the date will take some time if you need to advance it for more than a couple of dates. This is a simple analog watch setup like most where the date will only advance (move forward or increase). Hope this helps. |

A wired remote lets you easily control the subwoofer level for customized output and superior sound.
Variable Bass Boost allows you to adjust the low bass within the boost range to just the way you like it.
Short Protection
Automatic shut-off protects the amplifier if it gets too hot or if speakers fail causing a short.
Phase Control
Phase control lets you switch the speaker phase with the amp if your speakers or subwoofer are hooked up 'out of phase'.
Low Profile
Low-profile subwoofers are a great choice for space-constrained areas without compromising on power and performance.
Variable Input Control
The Variable Input Control allows the amplifier input to match the output signal from the head unit to achieve optimum performance when adjusted properly.
Product description
Sound Storm Laboratories US10 Amplified Car Subwoofer - 1000 Watts Max Power, Low Profile, 10 Inch Subwoofer, Remote Subwoofer Control, Great For Vehicles That Need Bass But Have Limited Space
- Built-in Amplifier - With a MOSFET power supply you get improved switching speeds, better performance with less power from the driver, lower gate-to-drain feedback capacitance, lower thermal impedance for higher switching frequencies
- PWM - Pulse Width Modulated design simplifies power supplies. It controls the output voltage and current precisely by removing the output current sensing loss & eliminating all secondary feedback circuitry. It’s efficient & reliable
- Variable Low-Pass Filter - A low-pass filter is an electronic circuit that removes all the notes below the filter's frequency setting. You will use the Low-pass filter to primarily keep high notes out of your subwoofer(s)
- High Level Inputs - Speaker level inputs are commonly referred to as high-level inputs. It will be used to connect the US10 to your factory radio or an aftermarket radio that does not have low-level (RCA) inputs
- Low-Level Inputs - Line level inputs, also known as RCA inputs or low-level inputs, use RCA interconnect cables to link the US10 with the source unit. Most aftermarket radios have multiple pairs of RCA outputs that can connect to multiple amplifiers
- Variable Bass Boost - Variable Bass Boost allows you to adjust the low bass within the boost range to just the way you like it
- Phase Control - Phase control lets you adjust the speaker phase with the amplifier if your speakers or subwoofer are hooked up “out of phase”
