User questions & answers

Question: Is this subbwoofer water resistant, for use on a boat
Answer: Not waterproof. You would have to put it in a waterproof enclosure.
Question: Would this do a good job in a mini van? Not looking to entertain the neighboring car, but would like to enjoy the bass and keep it out of sight
Answer: I think it would work very well in a mini van. I put this behind the backseat of my 2004 Frontier Crew Cab and because the cabin is relatively small and I can barely turn it on without being overwhelmed. I think it would work perfectly well in a much larger vehicle. Honestly, I'm blown away by how well this simple sub performs and how small/thin it is. Never would have believed it if I hadn't bought it.
Question: What hardware or tools I need for the installation of the Sound Storm Laboratories LOPRO10 LoPro Series Low Profile Amplified 10-Inch Subwoofer
Answer: You will need an inexpensive amp wiring kit, I used the 4 guage kit available here and wire strippers or a razor knife would work and a cable end crimper or even some pliers would work just fine for crimping wire ends on. the amp itself comes with everything to mount it two different ways, the easiest way especially if you are mounting it to carpet is the adhesive backed Velcro tape, that's how I mounted mine, I have two of them installed in the rear hatch floor of a fiat 500, the Velcro is very effective or you can use the metal screws that are also included.
Question: Can someone say what are the actual measured dimensions of the product and fuse amperage please
Answer: Actual dimensions of the unit are 15x12x3. The box it comes in is 18x14x5.

Product features

Deep Bass Low Profile

Enjoy the rich sound of Bass in just about any vehicle with the SSL LoPro10 Class A/B 10 inch Low Profile Amplified Subwoofer. With 1200 Watts Max Power and MOSFET power supply and High and Low Level Inputs, this Amplified Subwoofer can be hooked up to just about any in-dash stereo. With a height of just 3 inch, it's a perfect solution when space is an issue as it can easily fit under the seat of most vehicles. Customize the sound with the Variable Low Pass Crossover, Subsonic Filter, Phase Control and Remote Subwoofer Control.

Break Your Subwoofer In

This process involves subjecting the subwoofer to no more than low-to-medium volume levels for a number of hours in the enclosure. 3-4 hours is generally sufficient for the subwoofer’s suspension to loosen enough to prevent the voice coil(s) from overheating and causing failure. The break-in period is also effective in extending subwoofer life.

Built-In Amp and High and Low Level Inputs

Systems with a built-in amplifier do not require the addition of an external amp. They already have the power to play louder.

High-level inputs accept speaker output signals and low-level inputs accept pre-amp output signals to allow for the addition of amps and processors to standard factory or aftermarket source units.

MOSFET and Class A/B

Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors quickly switch from full to non-conduction for high efficiency output.

Our Class-A/B amplifiers feature specific linear circuitry that increases sound quality and power output while reducing distortion and improving efficiency.

Variable Low Pass Filter and Subsonic Filter

Variable low-pass filter gives you control over the frequencies that pass through to the subwoofer.

Subsonic filter restricts low-frequencies below the specified setting for better subwoofer protection and performance.

Subwoofer Level Control and Bass Boost

A wired remote lets you easily control the subwoofer level for customized output and superior sound.

Variable Bass Boost allows you to adjust the low bass within the boost range to just the way you like it.

Short Protection

Automatic shut-off protects the amplifier if it gets too hot or if speakers fail causing a short.

Phase Control

Phase control lets you switch the speaker phase with the amp if your speakers or subwoofer are hooked up 'out of phase'.

Low Profile

Low-profile subwoofers are a great choice for space-constrained areas without compromising on power and performance.

Variable Input Control

The Variable Input Control allows the amplifier input to match the output signal from the head unit to achieve optimum performance when adjusted properly.

Product description

The MTX TNE212DV dual 12" subwoofer enclosure is the ideal solution for anyone looking to add bass to their vehicle's system without breaking their bank. The MTX TNE212DV combines great subwoofer design with perfect enclosure design to deliver bass that far exceeds expectations. The unit is a dual 12" vented enclosure that has a single terminal cup showing a final 2Ω load to any connected amplifier. The Terminator subwoofers used in the enclosure include polypropylene dust caps that are durable allowing them to survive the rigors of most trunks and are lightweight allowing them to efficiently move using less power. Each subwoofer can handle 500-watts RMS power, resulting in a power level of 1000-watts RMS/2000-watts Peak for the entire enclosure. The subwoofers also incorporate Spider Plateau Venting, which is a mechanical cooling process that allows the subwoofer to continually refresh the air around the voice coil helping to dissipate the heat generated during extended play. The enclosure itself is made using extra-strength 5/8" MDF (medium density fiberboard), which is the preferred material for subwoofer enclosures, ensuring the enclosure can contain the massive low frequency sound waves generated by the subwoofers without problem. The enclosure is wrapped in black aircraft grade carpet. The classic black goes well with any interior and is resilient to tearing and wear. The embroidered Terminator logo adds a custom look. Backed by a two-year warranty and 40 years of MTX history and expertise in crafting high quality car audio, the TNE212DV is the perfect solution for enthusiasts on a budget.

  • Capable of handling up to 1000-watts RMS power at 2ω.
  • Dual 12" vented subwoofer enclosure designed for use in almost any vehicle.
  • Constructed using 5/8" MDF and aviation Carpet for durable and long lasting performance.
