Break Your Subwoofer In
A subwoofer must go through a short but important process of 'break-in' before it is run under harsh conditions. The 'break-in' process will ensure the subwoofer is able to perform as it has been designed to. This process involves subjecting the subwoofer to no more than low-to-medium volume levels for a number of hours in the enclosure. 3-4 hours is generally sufficient for the subwoofer’s suspension to loosen enough to prevent the voice coil(s) from overheating and causing failure. The break-in period is also effective in extending subwoofer life. Over-driving the woofer before it has been properly broken-in will usually result in premature failure and poor performance.
Cone: Polypropylene
Commonly called just PP, this plastic has various forms. It is a resilient and durable manufactured material that can be used in thousands of applications across virtually all fields. It can be used for tubes, car trims, and bags. In the specific case of our cones, this material allows for maximum give that produces great sounding speakers lasting you a long time.
Surround: Butyl Rubber
Butyl Rubber is a synthetic (man made) rubber and is valued for its chemical inertness, impermeability to air and the ability to endure or resist exposure to the many types of weather fronts. Butyl rubber has many different applications. Anywhere from Sports equipment to automotive parts, the medical industry and more. We use them for the Surrounds that connect the cone to the basket.

User questions & answers
Question: | What enclosure dimensions are recommended for the elite bdvc10? i can't find them on the description |
Answer: | On the Boss website it states 1 cubic ft. sealed and 2 cubic ft. Ported tuned to 37hz , 3" round Port that is 5" long |
Question: | Will these run at 2 ohms |
Answer: | As long as it's wired in parallel they will present you with a 2ohm load |
Question: | Is 450 rms enough |
Answer: | 450 is plenty for any subwoofer, a lot of subs cant even handle that, remember in this industry where numbers are over exaggerated, some more than others, with only a small number being totally honest about watts of stereos, amps, speakers, cable size, size needed, so just use common sense when a low cost product says its twice as good or more, than a brand you know to be the one of the best, a 1500 sub is probably 750 if that, so I would be comfortable putting 400-600 into it, depending on enclosure and sub location, unless you got money to waste replacing subs over and over. |
Question: | What is the rms at 2ohms |
Answer: | I’m very disappointed with these speakers I actually think they are about 100 rms if that they was making cracking sounds if turned up too much on my amp and epicenter at very low volumes I had to buy Rockville’s now I don’t have that problem anymore! |
Question: | ese amplificador mueve los 2 subwoofers |
Answer: | Si, amplificador es bastante fuerte |
Question: | Would they fit in a box with a 5 1/2 mounting depth |
Answer: | Might be little tight but I think it will I sold mine to a buddy |
Question: | Do these subs have a cubic inch box (air space)requirement |
Answer: | All Woofers haves air space requirements, these woofer will work well in most standard boxes you find. Just don’t use a shallow box and you’ll be happy with results. |
Question: | mounting depth |
Answer: | About 6 inches |

Voice Coil – Aluminum
Aluminum is remarkable for its low density and for its ability to resist corrosion. It is nonmagnetic (does not have any magnetic properties) and does not easily ignite. This solid material has the ability to perform under stress in both high tension and high compression environments. Aluminum is relatively soft making one of the more ideal materials to use in voice coils.
Cone: Poly Injection
Polyurethane is a resilient, flexible and durable manufactured material that can take the place of paint, cotton, rubber, metal or wood in thousands of applications across virtually all fields. It can be hard like fiberglass, squishy like upholstery foam, protective like varnish, bouncy like rubber or sticky like glue.
In the specific case of our cones, this material allows for maximum flexibility that produces great sounding speakers lasting you a long time.
