You still would be able to get a good sound out of the speaker this way.Use an amplifier if you just plan to hookup only your laptop. An amplifier gives less options of hookup many things, but it usually gives out a lot more Watts, so you would get more power/base/sound of your speaker. | Answer: | These are the worst built speakers I ever purchased. The crossovers have burned out - specifically one ceramic capacitor on the board - even burnt the board black and bubbled it. This happened on every one I bought. The first one I found a snot filled face mask, those paper dust masks you can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot. The snot was dried and "glued" the paper mask to the inside of the cabinet. It was disgusting. All I can say is DO NOT BUY THESE!!! They sound good and better with the 18" subs. I have behind 3000 watt amp that drove these two PADH212's. But these speakers are NO GOOD and do not last very long before burning out. Pyle customer service is non-exsistant, and they do not help at all. Amazon was kind enough to replace the defective products but the replacements ended up with the same issues. I sold the pair for $200 on Craigs List. I recommend buy Peavey or a very known reliable brand - NOT PYLE. Be warned. By the way - these are built in China. I think the Chinaman who built them thought it was a joke on Americans to put a nasty snot mask in the cabinet. |

Question: How do they sound in a car without an amplifier Answer: Sound really good I don’t have an amplifier powerful little speaker. Question: When installing these speakers which side is negative and which side is positive Answer: The positive and negative terminal identifiers should be printed on the decal on the speaker magnet or on the frame. It may be difficult to see so grab a magnifying glass. Sometimes they can be printed on the terminals and not clearly obvious. The positive terminal may be the one bearing a red dot. The positive and negative terminals can be determined as follows: Get a battery or DC power supply. Get a dropping resistor to put in series with the power supply and speaker terminals. Connecting the power supply and dropping resistor to the speaker terminals momentarily to observe the cone movement: If the cone moves outwards then what's connected to the positive side of the power source is the positive terminal of the speaker. If the cone moves inwards then what's connected to the positive side of the power source is the negative terminal of the speaker. PLEASE DO NOTE: Never connect a speaker directly to a car battery or direct current power source as the current through the speaker can damage it. Use a dropping resistor of about 40 Ohms or so. If in doubt about performing such a test have someone knowledgeable in electronics perform it for you. Question: What is the outside diameter of the speaker? Question: How many watts is this amplifier Answer: This is not an amplifier, it is a pre-amplifier which means that you need a separate amplifier in order to drive speakers. Question: The description says two (02) mono rca outputs for subwoofers. where are they Answer: You're right that the description says that there are 2 mono outputs for subwoofers but I think that is an error. The picture that there is of the back of the unit is correct, as is the labeling that accompanies the picture. Question: can you use rca in and bluetooth out Answer: No. The Bluetooth feature is only for receiving from a Bluetooth device as a source. Question: Can someone confirm that the remote control can in fact control the master volume on the preamp unit Answer: Neither of the other two answers are correct! Here’s the deal. This device has an analog knob with aux 1, aux 2, aux 3, and another multi-function input that includes the radio, bluetooth, and the media card stuff. The volume only works on some of the inputs. Bluetooth, radio, and the media card are routed through the digital, remote controllable volume control. The switch between Aux 1, aux 2, aux 3, and the multi-function input is routed through the master analog volume control, which is controlled by an analog knob that is not remote controllable. I had hoped that this device would offer remote control of the analog RCA inputs, but it does not.

Question: Can this be use for voices in car system Answer: Can be used anywhere, only - if sound quality is important, not volume - a divider filter should be used, at least 3 layers, preferably 4, no non-polar electrolytes should be used, coils only without ferrite cores and sufficient - about 10cm apart.All connections only soldered . You can already with the included capacitor, but the speaker is very sensitive, so it will be a completely different sound with sibilants, because the curve for filtration will be too flat. If only a capacitor is used, then around 1mkf, or even smaller, which will reduce the range but also the sound distortions Question: Crossover Capacitor what frequency? so i know where to set my midrange Answer: Set your mid range at about 5k Question: What frequency is the capasitor crossover Answer: The frequency range for the tweeter is 2k... so i believe the capacitor should be in that range Question: is this driver 4ohm or 8 ohm, why does it saw 4-8ohm? thanks Answer: 8 ohm
