He thought it was cool that the car kept crashing but we ended up returning and getting a hot wheels track that was propelled by a belt instead of controllers

Answer:	I believe the marine rating indicates it is designed to work in a high humidity environment but not necessarily to be directly exposed to water. I have mine installed in the cabin of my boat with 2 speakers inside and 2 outside.
