Answer:	Zoltan B, your answer is well intentioned but very misinformed. This is for new head units, like my pioneer, where you have to set the parking brake on, then off, then back on. They outsmarted just grounding it, which was the way to do it in the past. You can no longer just ground the parking brake sensor to get it to work. This pulses the current in the needed pattern with enough delay to tell the head unit that the break is set, even if it's not. So, yes, this is a well spent 10 dollars if you would like the access the parts of your head unit while driving that you cannot unless it's parked.
