Question: | Will this amp run two pioneer 8" pro |
Answer: | I've been running 1 Solo-Baric L7 15 (duel 4 ohm voice coils ran in parallel making it 1 ohm) at 1 ohm for 3 years now on one of these amps and it's been working just fine. Thing hits hard makes the roof of my FJ cruiser flex about a half inch. |
Question: | What is the rms power rating at 4 ohms x 4 channels |
Answer: | I think you are looking for the pioneer gm- 9605. 4 full range channels +1 for a sub. |
Question: | Will this run a 12 inch sub |
Answer: | Powerbass ASABASS Optional Remote Bass Knob (Discontinued by Manufacturer) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007BPR7EY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_CO6Eyb5AS53A7 |
Question: | Will it push |
Answer: | That's actually what I'm using it on. I have two 10 inch P1s and it works well. Both my subs are on a single input and if i try to bridge them, it cuts out so i just use a single channel and it sounds good. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do I need a line output converter if I have a stock head unit that does not have rca plug ins |
Answer: | The “nominal” rms output @ 4 ohms x 4 is 60 watts. Here’s a link to the info. I had to Google it to remember. https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Amplifiers/GM+Series/GM-A6704 |
Question: | What power cable should I use for this amp how many watts |
Answer: | This is a 4 channel amp which runs speakers . For a sub you’ll need a mono amp or a 5 channel amp that’ll run a sub and speakers |
Question: | Is this amp better than the Rockford prime |
Answer: | Yes, regular car speakers are 4 ohms. According to Pioneer this amp is 2 ohm stable. So can easily up to 8 speakers with this amp. Each would receive 62.5 watts rms, and 125 watts peak. Pioneer specs below. Maximum Power Output at 2 Ω 250W x 4 |
Question: | What’s different from champion series |
Answer: | Yes just make sure they're not ran at .5 ohm, look up the Crutchfield guide on running subwoofers. I have 3 10" pioneer subs 4 ohm each on this amp running at 1.3 ohms. Not even using half gain. More then enough power |
Product description
An amplifier shouldn’t take up too much space, especially in your car. The GM-D8704 might just be what you’re looking for. It combines a 1-Ohm stable circuit, installation flexibility and a superior high-power output. Pioneer’s new extra-efficient Class-D digital amplifiers mark a dramatic improvement in power output capability, yet are 50% smaller than the current GM-Series Class-AB amplifiers. That makes them more versatile in terms of installation as well as performance. To prevent circuit shutdown, Pioneer’s new digital amplifier circuit “Protection Control System” senses its internal temperature and automatically moderates input level accordingly. Stable, durable circuitry lessens the risk of high input power for the unit to achieve 1 Ω connection. This design enhances the flexibility to connect multiple subwoofers to a system. For extra flexibility, variable LPF and HPF make audio frequency more adjustable according to subwoofer characteristics and personal listening preferences. The GM-D8704 LPF and HPF are adjustable from 40 Hz to 500 Hz. What, you DON’T own a Pioneer head unit? Well, we won’t hold it against you. In fact we’ll even help you build onto your system. The GM-D8704’s speaker level inputs allow you to connect your OEM unit (or any unit that doesn’t have the typical RCA-type inputs) without having to buy add-on adapters. So, the install goes faster, you save money, and you’ve got a Pioneer amp in your vehicle.
- 1, 200 Watts Max Power
- Compact Design for Versatile Installation Options
- Refined Class FD Design Offers Extreme Efficiency and High-Quality Sound

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this amp have a remote volume control? Not a remote level, but a remote volume control |
Answer: | Little, yes. A lot no. I had it on a wooden panel behind my rear seat with my sub box less that a foot away. When I turned up my sub it cut out. Could be due to vibration, not 100% sure. Sub was not powered by this amp. |
Question: | How many watts is the amplifier? And will it be good to power 1 10" subwoofer and 2 6x9s |
Answer: | 100w x 4 channel 4ohm load |
Question: | Es para bocinas o para bajos |
Answer: | I would never recommend using a 4 channel bridgeable amp to push 2 subs, you would under power them. I would suggest buying a mono amp that can push 100-150 percent RMS per sub! |
Question: | What is the rms per channel also would it power four 6x |
Answer: | Yes, you will need the line out converter so the amp can have the musical signal. |

Question: | Can this safely output to a pair of 4 ohm speakers and a pair of 2 ohm speakers at the same time |
Answer: | 560 watts yes it can power it |
Question: | I am about to install 6 speakers in my jeep. i think i only have 1 rca output in my head unit. is it possible to hook up all 6 ? 4 to amp, 2 t the hd |
Answer: | Para bosinas |
Question: | Can I use this with a factory stereo and with replaced speakers (kickers in my case |
Answer: | 40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (65 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms) and 130 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode). I use it in my Navigator to power 6 speakers, 2 high range tweeters and 4 midrange 6 1/2 in the doors. Because of the wattage, I was a little concerned it wouldn’t keep up but overall, I’m happy with it. I imagine it would get the job done with 4 6x8’s you would just have to take a little extra time tweaking like I did. I’d reccommend it based on my experience, you wont go wrong with the price. If you find out its not for you, Im sure you could sell it and get all of your money back selling it to someone. |
Question: | The pioneer website gives dimensions as 7-1/8" x 1-1/2" x 2-1/2. amazon webpage says size: 8.50in. x 6.95in. x 2.50in. which is correct |
Answer: | Yes, use the output rca jack to stack amps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | This amp can power some 15" Soundstreams, mids, and highs |
Answer: | I guess but it really depends on the power requirements of the speakers being used relative to the rated power outputs of the amplifier. A 500 watt subwoofer in a properly engineered encloser will function better than a 2000 watt monster subwoofer on this particular amplifier. Hope this helps. |
Question: | What are the physical dimensions of this amp? I cannot believe it is over 4 inches tall |
Answer: | its not 4 inches tall... its 2-3. |
Question: | Can i run a 2 6x9s together on the sub channel? A 6 speaker set up |
Answer: | you can if you are connecting them in series/parallel but don’t expect to get a lot voice from them just bass. |
Question: | So i can use this amp to run my 4 door speakers and a separate passive sub box |
Answer: | This amp will power 4 door speakers and a subwoofer. |
