Question:	Does this model have an LED on the front of the unit that lights up when powered on
Answer:	The LED on the front is on by default, but can be turned off in the camera's settings. With it off, no visible light is given off during the day. However, the IR lights are quite visible when on. They are dim such that they don't cast a light in a dark room, but if you are looking for the camera, you'll find it.
Question:	Does the ir click when it turns on? i have an older foscam and the ir makes a loud clicking noise whenever it turns on / off
Answer:	Every camera that has an IR cut filter will click..this is normal since its mechanical...Without the IR filter the day images would have poor color...Some cameras have a schedule feature to leave the camera in night mode during specified hours which will eliminate this clicking...hikvision is one example. Answer:	Yes, but when you turn on this feature, you cannot hear sound from the room where the camera is placed. I believe it works the same with video baby monitors though.

These cameras support SD card recording, and the browser plugin and mobile app allow simultaneous viewing and management of up to 9 cameras. 2. Answer:	I let it record motion detected to an FTP server, it's pretty straight forward if you know how to connect to an FTP server. It takes a minute or so for the video to be uploaded which is strange because my FTP server is on my own LAN - perhaps it's the processing that takes time. This is how mine is set up:Go under Network->FTP settings:FTP Server: ftp://192.168.1.11/FosCamPort: 21FTP Mode: PASVThen add username and password.I had trouble getting it to work because I never bothered setting the local storage location, but after pointing to a C:/temp even though it would never use this location, it all worked great.

Answer:	As of 12/24/2014, the Foscam camera can't be controlled (or viewed) through Chrome. This is because Google Chrome will not allow installation of CRX files (extensions) from any source other than the Chrome Store (for your protection). Until recently, you could get around this by going into the "developer" mode in Chrome, but Google apparently "fixed" that. I don't know about Firefox, and of course, it works fine with IE.

Answer:	It has a microphone with mediocre quality. Some software will pick up the audio stream, some won't. I haven't been able to get Blue Iris t to record the audio.

Answer:	The cams are in depended of each other, you can put any one with any other when using there internal software (web based interface) to view the video. However if you are using software to monitor/record multiple cameras you will need to be sure the software supports the cam version, though I believe the only difference is the E supports POE (though does include a power adapter as well) and the W supports wireless.
Question:	Is it a ptz camera
Answer:	Everything I've seen costs at least $50 and will probably cause more problems than solutions. With any enclosure I think you will have problems with IR reflecting off the inside of the dome, degrading your night capability. I would look for a camera designed for outdoor use...unfortunately all the ones I have seen are significantly more expensive than Foscam.I have had mine outdoors without any enclosure but mounted under a roof and well shielded from the rain for a year or so. No problems at all. I live in the tropics, so very high humidity, bugs, and high temps are the norm. No problems at all so far.I also note the Foscam web site has a newer 9821E model that has higher resolution and POE, but I haven't seen it yet for sale on Amazon.

Answer:	It appears so. The admin interface of the camera has the option to invert the image (they use the term flip). I tested the flip ability and it does invert properly. I cannot speak for long use of this application but the feature is there and it looks like it would work as one would expect.
