Answer:	This printer does a terrific job in printing on cardstock. I print on cardstock on a regular basis, and have never had a paper jam.

Answer:	I love it. So much so that I got a new print head to keep it running. The photos are as good as when I used to get film developed, but only if using Kodak paper. Which is worth it because it saves on ink. They have not faded or changed color in over 3 years. For documents the lines and fonts are crisp, even when they are very small. My husband prints out sheet music and loves the quality of this Kodak over the HP. It prints barcodes nicely too. There are no smears. Lately, I have to agree with the color issue (I was hoping it was a bad batch of ink!) the reds are a bit orange. This was not the case before I changed the print head, so I am assuming it is the ink. But I haven't tried printing a photo since then - so I can't say.The scanner does an exceptional job. Though I use a Canon for old photos & film. This printer is discontinued by Kodak, and the price for new is very high these days. If you are buying used the print head will be dried out & probably useless. Question:	I have owned my printer for 3 years, i have never gotten my top slot to print or copy, it there a way to check to see if it is no good
Answer:	When I installed this printer on an older computer, everything worked fine. A few years later, I re-installed it on a newer computer and the scanner stopped working. Everything else was fine. Eventually, I contacted support through their net-chat service and they looked it over once I granted them remote access to my system. Eventually, what worked was to uninstall and then reinstall the software. I could have done that myself but its not listed as a solution for this problem. The tech said it happens sometime even though I installed the software properly. So that's what you might try to resolve your issue.

Answer:	No, the maximum size this machine can print is 8.5"x 14".
Question:	I only want to print using black ink. Do I need to have all of the colors installed, or can I use black by itself
Answer:	Install the color as well and just never use it. Before print it’ll give you an option to choose color or black and you can also just use black.

Answer:	Yes, The Brother MFC-J491DW All-in-One inkjet printer Scans, Prints, Copies and double sided print/copy. The Unit should Fax however I do not the Fax capability installed. awesome little printer.
Question:	If you run out of a color cartridge, will it print in black
Answer:	No! I cannot get mine to print in black and white when any color cartridge is empty. It does NOT automatically print in black only and even when I change the settings, it refuses to print. Once I replaced the color cartridges, it happily printed in black and white again. I've never had a printer do this.
