You don't have to use the app, but you do have to set up a personal Nixplay account to be able to email a photo to the frame. What that means is that my extended family (over 100 people) will all have to become registered users of the Nixplay system in order to send photos to my 100 year old grandmother. I wasn't able to find this out until after I bought one and attempted to set it up. I'm returning it in favor of the Skylight frame, which does allow emails from non-account holders.

Answer:	Yes, this frame is perfect for that! Anyone anywhere can send pictures to the frame via the app or email; it’s connected via WiFi, NOT Bluetooth, so distance doesn’t matter. We bought this for my grandparents because I have cousins in CA, ME, and OH plus an uncle in the Philippines and a brother in Germany, and they love getting photos from everyone! You can’t see what photos you’ve sent via the app, though, so I personally recommend using email so you can check your Sent folder for what you’ve previously sent. The person who has the frame just has to approve new email addresses (a one-time thing for each email), which gives you peace of mind knowing random strangers can’t accidentally send photos.

Answer:	Hi, friend, you don't have to reduce the image size. Select "Setup" - "Photo Ratio" - to choose "Original Size" to make the photo display in original size, and it has auto-rotate function, so you don;t have to worry about the photo direction.
Question:	Does this frame have to be powered on manually in order for it to play the pictures
Answer:	You can set it to come on and off automatically at set times... once or every day or (I think) weekdays or weekends.

Answer:	Techically "HD" , but the Native resolution is 1280x800, not 1920x1080 aspect ratio is different so you'll get black bars, unless you stretch the picture. Insta 20lbs added to your face :)

Answer:	That depends on the quality and size of your pictures. Also if you use USB to store your photos, you can go over the storage limit of the aluratek itself.

Answer:	I've found it works best to download through provided wiring or USB Stick. Even then, you have to rotate / edit pictures on the Digital Frame after you transfer the file. The edits on the phone or laptop have a 50-50 chance of showing up upside down otherwise.

Question:	why is the remote control not working
Answer:	It is working for me so I am not quite sure. There is an opening at the bottom and I think that its for batteries so I would try checking it.
Question:	How does a person put pictures on this if they dont have a cell phone or computer
Answer:	If you don't have cell phone or computer, I assume that you are using digital camera. The digital camera usually can connect to the digital photo frame with the cord and you can upload the pictures like that. Or you can just take out the SD card from the cameral and insert into the digital photo frame and the photo will be there!
