User questions & answers
Question: | Le queda a una Nikon D |
Answer: | Nikon provides a compatibility chart that shows the limitations (if any) with their lenses. I'll try and paste the link here, but if that does not work you can easily find the chart on the internet. http://www.nikonusa.com/en_INC/IMG/Assets/Common-Assets/Images/Teleconverter-Compatibility/EN_Comp_chart.html |
Question: | is the 18-140mm a wide angle lens |
Answer: | No, it won't. That lens is not on the compatibility list at nikonusa.com. There is another website that explains teleconverters in a fair amount of detail, and it doesn't list the 28-300 mm lens either. https://backcountrygallery.com/all-about-teleconverters-tcs/ |
Question: | Will this len work with Nikon D |
Answer: | The D500 Yes. I don't know about the lens but Nikon could give you the answer. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How good is this lens when taking video |
Answer: | I am using on a Nikon 5500. The problem I have with video is that the zoom ring on the lens is so stiff that if I try to zoom in or out while filming a video, it is sometimes enough stress on the camera/lens connection that the lens briefly disconnects from the camera's sensor/electronics, and "live mode" is canceled, ending the video. I have to be careful to hold the base of the lens if I want to zoom in or out while filming. |
Question: | Can this Tamron 18-400mm lens be used with the Nikon D |
Answer: | Yes it can work or on D7000 |
Question: | Does this work with Nikon D |
Answer: | According to reviews the D7500 Camera is a APS-C Digital SLR Camera. If so the new Tamron 18-400 is compatible with the D7500. |
Question: | Can it be used on Nikon d5100 and d |
Answer: | Yes perfectly |

Tamron wows the world again with our ultra-telephoto all-in-one-zoom
In 1992, all-in-one zoom lenses were known for their heavy weight, bulky size and mediocre performance. Tamron revolutionized the industry by creating a lightweight, compact, high-performance “all-in-one zoom lens” that was perfect for everyday use. It launched to worldwide acclaim, cementing Tamron’s role as a pioneer in the “all-in-one zoom lens” category. Whereas the zoom magnification was 7.1x in 1992, it has increased to 22.2x for the Model B028 which is the world’s first* to achieve 400mm at the telephoto end. With its advanced optical system, compact lens barrel, high-precision cam configurations and VC, the B028 introduces the next level of Tamron innovation: the “ultra-telephoto all-in-one zoom lens.”

User questions & answers
Question: | Please tell me if this 1 more expensive lens could be used to obtain the similar quality images than 3 less expensive lenses that I am looking at -- 35mm prime f/2.4, 50mm prime f/1.8, the kit 18-55mm lens. I am on a budget and new to SLRs...thanks in advance |
Answer: | It is not a fisheye lens. Lines appear fairly straight. I am a real estate broker and have liked using this lens to capture small spaces (bathrooms, pantries, closets, hallways, etc.). |
Question: | Does this lens work on the 70D? Looks like it'd be a great lens for video and stills |
Answer: | I haven't used the 35mm but i can assure you the image quality is better than the 50 f1.8 or the kit lens. This sigma will serve you well as a starter lens and actually shouldn't be something you immediately feel like upgrading. Primes are well and good if you are ready for them but zooms are better for starting out. if you test out different focal lengths you can find out what prime lenses will work best for you. you don't want to buy a 35mm just to find out you'd rather have a 24, etc. |
Question: | Is it work with Canon 5D mark II |
Answer: | Yes it does work and it is a great lens. You will be happy with the picture quality and sharpness. |
Question: | EX DC OS HSM, what does these abbreviation means |
Answer: | It should work but it's not the best choice. The 5D is a full frame camera, and the Sigma is for APS-C sensors (smaller sensor). You will see vignetting (black area at edge of picture). You should consider the Sigma 24-60mm 2.8 instead, or check this list for other Sigma lenses for full frame cameras: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Full-Frame-Lens-Substitutes-Sigma/lm/R1XMV8PZXQALTP |
Product features
17-50mm F2.8 EX DC (OS)* HSM
Sigma’s 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM large-aperture standard zoom lens covers a focal length from 17mm wide angle and offers a large aperture of F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range, making it ideal for many types of photography especially portraiture and landscapes. The OS, Sigma’s anti shake feature offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. HSM provides fast and quiet AF. Sigma’s own FLD glass elements, which have performance equal to fluorite along with two glass mold and one hybrid aspherical lens, provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations. The Super Multi-Layer coating reduces flare and ghosting. This lens boasts superior peripheral brightness and provides sharp, high contrast images even at the maximum apertures. With a minimum focusing distance of 11 inches throughout the entire zoom range and a magnification ratio of 1:5. If you need to be ready for any photographic opportunity, even low light, then this Sigma lens is perfect. Compact and light weight, it’s a necessary addition to your camera bag.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this lens auto focus for a Nikon D |
Answer: | No it does not. It's a prime lens meaning there's only one mm length (50 mm). If it zoomed, you would see for instance (72mm-200mm) |
Question: | Will this fit nikon d |
Answer: | Yes they do. |
Question: | This fit for nikon d |
Answer: | There is an option on the amazon page before you buy the lens that matches what cameras it fits.Check to see if the Nikon 7200 is listed. |
Question: | I am new to the dslr world, so this may sound silly....i just bought the nikon d3400, this should work for my camera right? it has the auto focus |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Does this lense zoom |
Answer: | Si |
Question: | I understand that autofocus doesn't work on the lower-end cameras like the D-3200...but does the shutter speed and aperature still work automatically |
Answer: | Short answer yes. Long answer: It's a zoom lens, wide angle and telephoto all in one. Also has a crop factor. For example, Nikon’s “DX” cameras have a crop factor of 1.5x, so if you take a 18mm wide angle lens and multiply it by this number, the result is 27mm. This basically means that the 18mm lens on the crop sensor DX camera would behave more like a 27mm lens on a full-frame camera in terms of field of view. Likewise the 140mm is really a 210mm. |
Question: | Does this work with the Nikon D |
Answer: | Yes it will. I still own this lens which is my primary lens. I started out with it on a D3500. Works very well with that camera. It’s bigger than the camera but works great. |
Question: | Does D100 support AF on this lens |
Answer: | A Nikon certified product should come in a plain box so labeled, and as mentioned, include a card from Nikon with its serial number stating the 90 day warranty. My lens was bubble wrapped, in a well fitted plastic bag. Without the card from Nikon, my gut would be thinking used, or almost even worse, gray market... Nikon USA will not even touch a GM product. Good luck. |

User questions & answers
Question: | The 18-105mm lens that comes with the D90 has a "G" after the apature numbers. Is this the same lens? What does the G stand for |
Answer: | I called Nikon directly & was told it is compatible with your camera, but would only work in manual mode (not autofocus mode, because that camera doesn't have an auto focus motor in the body). |
Question: | My D5200 can auto-focus with this lens? I see the D5200 can AF only with some lens with "G |
Answer: | Hi Lu SimensenThank you for your email to C&W lens. Both D7000 and D700 have build-in motor, so they can work with any Nikon AF lens including Nikon 80-200. To choose between Nikon 80-200 and 70-200 is always struggle to many photography enthusiasts. So here are some of my opinions: the good thing about the 70-200: it has VR and it is a little wider than 80-200, the bad thing: it is much more expensive and much heavier than 80-200. Optically, I feel they are almost the same. Hope my answer can help you a little. Thank you.C&W lens |
Question: | Is this lens compatible with the Nikon D |
Answer: | The D 500 is a crop sensor and this lens are for a full frame, check Nikonusa.com website for compatibility. I use mine with a D 750 and works great. Hope this helps |
Question: | Does this lens take good, crisp, clear pictures? Is it a good "walk about lens" Maybe for Disney or to get photos of the kiddos |
Answer: | Yes. The lens will work on your D600. Other than the 10mm focal length difference compared to the 70-200 2.8, the 70-200 has VR (vibration reduction). The newer 70-200 has VR II then older one has VR I. I also believe the 80-200 shoots a little "cooler" compared to the 70-200, which seems to have slightly better color rendition. This can be adjusted in post processing however. The 80-200 is also just a little slower on focussing though it has not impacted my sports photography. |

Excellent AF performance meets enhanced VC
Precise AF tracking and VC (Vibration Compensation) are essential for ultra-telephoto lens performance. Thatʼs where Tamronʼs Dual MPU high-speed control system comes in. It features an MPU (micro-processing unit) with a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) for superior signal processing, plus a separate MPU dedicated exclusively to vibration compensation. With enhanced AF response speed and VC, you can accurately shoot fast-moving subjects with stability and ease—even in low-light.
Precise, responsive AF performance A built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) on the MPU delivers highspeed processing of digital signals, while ensuring excellent AF responsiveness. This improvement allows you to track subjects moving at high speeds, even more accurately. The AF drive system also uses a USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor for outstanding performance and fast, precise focusing.
Keep it steady with enhanced VC Weʼve fine-tuned our original VC (Vibration Compensation) system with an enhanced control algorithm and an independent MPU dedicated to VC. Together, they meet a CIPA image stabilization performance level of 4 stops. While most ultra-telephoto lenses are prone to camera shake, the Model A035 delivers excellent stability for reliable, stress-free handheld shooting.

Question: | Is anyone using this with a DX |
Answer: | Works very good with 7200.........my go to combo for birds. |
Question: | will this lens work on a nikon d |
Answer: | I've mounted it and used it fine on a D3200, although it's hard to spot the camera body since the lens swallows it up! :) |
Question: | Is this lens compatible with the nikon d5000? i've been getting mixed answers. thanks |
Answer: | Yes this FX lens will work on any modern Nikon DX camera but it's not as simple as the answers I see provided. Yes the Lens effectively becomes a 350-750mm lens and for wildlife that is great but what you are not hearing about is that the effective aperture also goes up proportionately from 5.6 to a higher number. That decreases your depth of field. Second problem is that most people think the image will be sharper because your "using the center of the glass". This increased sharpness myth has been debunked and is not true! If you had a true DX lens of roughly the same quality and in the same focal range you would get a sharper picture from it on a DX camera. All I am saying is that your paying a lot of money for high a high quality lens that will not work as well as a true DX lens that would cost 1/3 the price. If you are sure that at some future date you will be moving to an FX camera then it's worth it, if not I suggest you do some reading and confirm what I am saying is true. There is an excellent video by Tony Northrup that explains and photographically demonstrates the gains and loses of using an FX lens on a DX camera. |
