I can not say if it would have no aperture control or if it would generate an error and be completely inoperative. The B001 model of this lens is older and will likely work fine on the older bodies.

Question:	How good is this lens when taking video
Answer:	I am using on a Nikon 5500. The problem I have with video is that the zoom ring on the lens is so stiff that if I try to zoom in or out while filming a video, it is sometimes enough stress on the camera/lens connection that the lens briefly disconnects from the camera's sensor/electronics, and "live mode" is canceled, ending the video. I have to be careful to hold the base of the lens if I want to zoom in or out while filming.
