User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit my canon eos rebel xs
Answer: No, it is a dt lens which means it is for crop sensors. The a7 is a full frame. On top of that the the a7 uses the e-mount and this is an a-mount meaning it would also require an adapter to work properly.
Question: Will it connect directly to my eos rebel t5i?? or do i need to purchase something else
Answer: Hi Kathleen, this will fit the a5100 camera when you use an A-E mount lens adaptor. This model is an A mount lens while the camera has an E mount body. You may use adapter models LAEA3 or LAEA 4. Thanks_Mitch
Question: Does this come with the rubber spacer for when the tripod collar is removed
Answer: . The A3000 is compatible with Sony's growing selection of E-mount lenses; smaller, lighter and designed specifically for Sony's compact interchangeable lens cameras (NEX). With that said, I would focus on sony E mount lens. The 55-300 in question is made for the larger framed Sony SLR camera. You should be able to find something similar in an E mount.
Question: Does it work with Canon 80D
Answer: Hi, if you are pertaining to the lens SAL1855, which which are bundled on Sony Alpha A-mount Camera, then the difference is that SAL55300 is a telephoto zoom lens (55-300 mm) with max aperture of f4.5 - 5.6 while SAL1855 is a standard zoom len (18-55mm) with max aperture of F3.5-5.6. Hope this helps. -Ely

User questions & answers

Question: How do I get this lens to autofocus
Answer: If your question is about Image Stabilization. The lens does not have this feature.
Question: Your ad states " includes sigma usa 4-year warranty." the warranty paper i received says one year warranty. which is correct
Answer: As far as I can tell they are the same housing size. This one has upgraded optics compared to the 16mm.
Question: I know what auto focus us but does this lens have auto metering for the canon 90d
Answer: Sony NEX/alpha cameras are 1.5x crop factor so you multiply 20mm x 1.5 factor to get a 30mm full frame (35mm film) equivalent lens which is a medium wife angle lens. Good for general street photography.
Question: Will this fit a Sony a6000? Thanks
Answer: OSS adds complexity and bulk to the lens, as well as cost. It's unlikely that Sony could design a lens this size with OSS. On modern bodies with IBIS, OSS is much less beneficial. While I agree that OSS is not required on such wide lenses, I would point out that it is beneficial. It still allows you to increase your exposure time by 2-4 stops, allowing for hand-held shutter speeds between 1/10" and 1/2". That can be very useful for hand-held landscape and urban photography in low light.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this compatible with canon rebel T1i
Answer: It comes with a lens cap, soft draw-string case, and a high-quality petal-style hood. Very nice. BTW, best lens I've ever owned...by far.
Question: Does it work with canon rebel t7i
Answer: This is a prime 55mm lens it doesn't zoom. It is a fixed focal length. It is 55mm on the full farm A7 & A7R and the equivalent of approximately an 82mm on an APS-C sensor camera.
Question: Is this the lens Sigma released in Oct. 2014 or a prior model? How can Goja bundle all this stuff when others sell just the lens for this price
Answer: It says on box "made in Thailand". This is my second Zeiss. I still own the SEL24F18, both are built to extremely high standard, no flex at all. The only sub par component of the older Zeiss was the petal hood that fell apart in less than a year, I had to superglue it back together. The older lens has seen hell and still going strong after 3 years of heavy use. I tell you all this cos I was worried too, but when you see the images you get from the lens, wow! Also, unlike the other E mount Zeiss, I have not read about a single bad copy of the lens. Hope this helps
Question: How does this compare to the oem nikon 18-300mm
Answer: In general, don't use the clear UV filter with this lens. It will degrade the image quality. If you care so little about the image quality, you should not get this lens. Get the SEL50F18F and save hundreds of dollars. If you must use an UV filter, do not use the cheap Tiffen UV filter offered in a bundle. Use a Heliopan, or a Zeiss, or at the very least a B&W.

User questions & answers

Question: What difference is between canon ef 24-70mm and this
Answer: The VR version (vibration reduction) allows the photographer to shoot more pictures in a hand held mode rather than a tripod. Especially good for sports and wildlife photography.
Question: Will this lens fully function with the canon eos r mirrorless full frame
Answer: The Nikon 24-70 2.8 ED VR is super sharp and fantastic. The new VR version is superior and worth the additional $ in my opinion. I highly. Recommend it.
Question: what about a hood for it
Answer: 82mm filters on the new 24-70mm f/2.8 VR lens
Question: Will this work with a Sony A7 mirrorless full frame
Answer: You can use this lens on D5200, but I would not recommend it since on an APS-C body, the lens becomes 36-105 equivalent losing all the wide angle portion. Plus it is big, heavy and expansive lense. I would recommend Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED (roughly 24-70 equivalent), which designed for APS-c body. That being said, if you have the plan to migrate to full-frame body. You can buy this lens, but I still recommend something else: Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens for Nikon F, with half the price, you get pretty much same image quality. I hope this is helpful.

In addition to outstanding image quality, this lens offers autofocus, construction that minimizes the incursion of dust and debris, an optical stabilizer (OS) function, and more. To make this lens as easy to use as possible by photographers in all fields, it features not only SIGMA’s most advanced mechanical systems but also the company’s latest software.

SIGMA’s Art line: a focus on high resolution

The large-diameter standard zoom ideal for today’s ultra-high-megapixel digital cameras

To fulfil the uncompromising image quality standard of the Art line, this lens features a power distribution that has been optimized in exacting detail. This is the lens for those who desire consistent resolution at maximum F2.8 brightness or lower and complete control of the beautiful bokeh effect.

Smooth bokeh and minimised flare.

The 9-blade rounded diaphragm creates an attractive blur in the out-of-focus areas of the image.

From an early stage in the lens design process, flare and ghosting have been measured to establish an optical design resistant to strong incident light sources such as backlighting. SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting to help photographers produce sharp and high contrast images even in backlit conditions.

Made in Japan

All Sigma products, lenses, cameras and flash units are manufactured exclusively by Sigma in Sigma’s own factory in Aizu, Japan. No Sigma Corporation product – lens, camera or flash – is manufactured outside of Japan. This is very unusual these days, as most companies have at least some of their products produced outside of Japan because of cost considerations.

There's a reason why SIGMA continues to insist on the very highest quality in its product manufacturing: our love of photography is second to none.

We deeply appreciate the photographer's desire to record and express—the passion of the photographer.

We understand the need to capture the moment that gives rise to a unique work

Incorporating advanced aspherical lens processing technology

Aspherical lenses necessitate refined expertise in the design and manufacturing of advanced, high-performance lenses. SIGMA’s representative products to feature this technology were the SIGMA 12-24mm F4 DG HSM | Art and SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art, which both incorporated large 80mm aspherical lenses as their front lens element. Building on the success of these predecessors, the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG OS HSM | Art incorporates an aspherical lens element that helps achieve extremely high resolution. This element is much thicker at the center than the edges, and forming its unusual shape is a feat of manufacturing technology. Moreover, SIGMA processes the surface of this aspherical lens element with ultra-precise tolerances that are measured in hundredths of a micrometer.

With many applications in aerospace and other industries, glass ceramic is an extremely tough type of crystallized glass that serves as the foundation for Clear Glass Ceramic. While featuring the high transmittance required of optical devices, this advanced new material combines greater hardness than chemically strengthened glass and greater flexibility than sapphire crystal glass. These qualities make Clear Glass Ceramic the ideal material for protective lens filters.

Answer: Totally, your camera can fit all EF and EF-S lenses. This is a good lens too, unmatched in sharpness and speed at its price point. It’s ideal for portraits, and also performs well in low light. Not wide enough to be your go to walk around lens, so hang on to your 18-55mm if you have one. If not, I would suggest pairing this with the EF-S 24mm F2.8 STM for your wide shots, as it has a lot of the same advantages of the 50mm with a wider angle of view. Question: If I order this lens today while it is out of stock will I pay the shown price, or I will get charged for the regular price
Answer: Build quality is better on the new model, and the STM focus is better for video. IQ for stills is about the same, with the new STM model having a little better color and less aberrations at wide open apertures. So if you don't have either, get the STM model. IF you have the older molder, then it is only worth the upgrade if you plan to do a lot of video. If you would like more information about the 50mm STM model, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the lens, and also has a breakdown comparison with the 50mm F1.8 II and also the F1.4 model. There are also sample images taken with the lens (though keep in mind some are from a full frame and some are from a crop). Here is a link to the reivew. https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R2DCIYJK2FNZ42?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp
Question: Will sony version of this lens work with full frame a7rii without cropping
Answer: You will have a much better lens. The optical quality of the 50mm is much better than your kit lens. There will be next to zero geometric aberration (straight lines come out as curved with the 18-55), excellent low-light performance, and a much shallower depth of field (a much blurrier background to help your foreground stand out). Both the latter come from the faster lens - f/1.8 vs f/3.5, a full 2 stops. The only thing is that it is a fixed lens, so you cannot change your field of view. However, it's something you will get used to very soon. I started out with the 28-135mm USM, and basically stopped using it after I got the nifty fifty.

User questions & answers

Question: Please tell me if this 1 more expensive lens could be used to obtain the similar quality images than 3 less expensive lenses that I am looking at -- 35mm prime f/2.4, 50mm prime f/1.8, the kit 18-55mm lens. I am on a budget and new to SLRs...thanks in advance
Answer: yes.
Question: Does this lens work on the 70D? Looks like it'd be a great lens for video and stills

Question: Is it work with Canon 5D mark II
Answer: Yes it includes that little leg in the picture, with a ring to adjust the position around the lens, for you to attach it to a tripod with standard screw.
Question: EX DC OS HSM, what does these abbreviation means

User questions & answers

Question: Why does this lens create a fuzzy black vignette when I zoom in??? should I be using a different wide angle for my nikon
Answer: Yes it will. Some post-production with software like Lightroom or the standard Photos-Program that comes with a Mac will help you to accentuate the contrasts and colours to optimize your wideandle indoor shots. Have fun
Question: Will this lens for the canon 6D
Answer: Since it is made for DX and your camera is FX, the lens will work, but the image will be in a full circle, if that makes any sense.
Question: Would some one please translate the acronyms/abbreviations in this lens's name
Answer: This is made for Cropped sensor dslr's
Question: Is this lens rectilinear
Answer: It's completely manual. I usually set the focus on infinity, which is 6 feet+ anyway. fStop is set on the lens barrel, then adjust shutter speed manually on camera for best exposure. It's old school but I like it. Takes great pictures.

10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM

This Ultra wide-angle zoom lens has a maximum aperture of F3.5 throughout the entire zoom range, making it suitable for low-light and indoor photography. It's wide-angle of view from 102.4*degrees produces striking images with exaggerated perspective, enabling photographers to emphasize the subject. ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass, SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass and aspherical lenses provide excellent correction of all types of aberrations. The super multi-layer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting and creates high image quality throughout the entire zoom range. The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures fast and quiet autofocus, while allowing full-time manual focus override.

*The angle of view changes depending on which camera model the lens is attached to.

Ultra wide-angle zoom from 102.4* degrees

The 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM lens offers photographers greater freedom of expression by rotating the zoom ring. It is a very powerful tool for architectural, indoor and landscape photography.

*The angle of view changes depending on which camera model the lens is attached to.

Exaggerated perspective

This ultra wide-angle lens allows photographers to create an exaggerated perspective between the subject and the background to emphasise, for example, expanses of a landscape.

Large F3.5 aperture through the entire zoom range

The large, constant aperture of F3.5 provides a bright image in the viewfinder, which helps photographers easily check focusing and composition.

Superior image quality

Two ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) and one SLD(Special Low Dispersion)glass elements are employed for effective compensation of color aberratiuon. The use of two glass mould and two hybrid aspherical lenses offer excellent correction for distortion and astigmatism and assure superior image quality. The super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides high contrast images throughout the entire zoom range.

Quiet and fast AF

This lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), which ensures a quiet and high-speed auto focus as well as full-time manual focus override by rotation of the focus ring.*

*AF will not function with Pentax ist* series and K100D DSLR cameras that do not support HSM.

Petal-type Hood

An inner focusing system eliminates front lens rotation, making the lens particularly suitable for using the included petal-type lens hood which blocks out extraneous light.

Minimum focusing distance of 24cm (9.4") at all focal lengths

This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 24cm (9.4 inches) throughout the entire zoom range. This close focusing distance on such a wide-angle lens emphasizes perspective and allows the photographer to capture high quality images, not only of the foreground subject but also the surrounding scenery.

*Vignetting will occur if the lens is used with digital cameras with image sensors larger than APS-C size or 35mm SLR cameras.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this work on a Nikon d
Answer: I always quite like the older Sigma EX lenses despite some hit & miss units. they are rather compact for the aperture size. No experience with the new 30mm Art. But the 35 is truly an art form. On a 7d it would be 56mm whilst the 30mm Art is 48mm in FF terms. Depends on your FL style.
Question: is this lens compatible with Nikon D3x
Answer: Hi, yes it come with the original lens hood. It's still wrapped in the factory plastic :) happy to answer any other questions you may have so please don't hesitate
Question: Does it work on the d
Answer: Yes its compatible
Question: Does this work good out the box with a d
Answer: Works great. Make sure you order the Canon mount version of the lens.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this lens have the upgrade to firmware
Answer: You need to order the lens with a Canon mount, also specified as an EF mount. It is also available with a Nikon mount, so you need to get the lens with the correct mount, as they are not interchangeable. But once you've verified that your particular camera model uses the Canon EF mount lenses, ALL the lenses you purchase for it need to be EF mount lenses.
Question: Would this fit a canon 6D
Answer: Yes the Canon mount version works with any EOS or Rebel DSLR cameras. Even though I have an EOS 80D, but Sigma advertises this lens to work with both types. Great lens and outstanding focus system that costs half of the Canon built lens. No, you don't need to buy anything else. I bought this package and it has everything I needed. You can read all the other positive reviews for verification. Unless you need the weatherproof version, which is heavier and costs more, this zoom lens is ideal for most telephoto applications.
Question: Does it come with a lens hood and a case
Answer: Mine did. It is like a fat black rubberband.
Question: Will this lens work on canon t
Answer: Yes. Of course! Why not? I knew somebody who use it to Canon EOS 70D. The EOS 80D is on the same line as the 70D, but 80D is better. You can look for Danny McCullough at flickr and check his work. He did hand-held the 70D + Sigma 150-600mm C for almost all of his shots. It's an amazingly sharp lens. You can use it in a APS-C or in a Full-frame camera. I'm also going to get this lens at Digital Goja (because of the kit which is a ++) here at Amazon after I sell my Tamron 150-600mm.

Close-focusing down to 4.9 feet (1.5m) allows filling the frame (at 300mm) with a subject the size of a dollar bill, and itís compatible with the Canon 58mm Close-up lens 500D for even more spectacular shots of small objects.

Isolate the Interesting Part

The eye tends to see the whole rather than the individual parts. It also sees whatís near and not whatís far. By bringing attention to those things missed by the eye, you can create many interesting pictures. It could be the grimace of an athlete, the grill of a classic car, or a girl against a blurred background. Telephoto lenses can also compress images to give dramatic effects. You are limited only by your imagination.
