User questions & answers
Question: | I have a PANASONIC DMC-GF3 Camera body, which lens adapter will I need |
Answer: | To be able use 35mm lens on E-PL3 please buy 1 of Olympus MMF-3 Adapter from Amazon. |
Question: | What adapter must i buy to be able to use this lens on my pen e-pl |
Answer: | I have not used it for video but it's an older 4/3 lens that needs an MMF auto-focus adapter to work with later Micro Four-Thirds camera bodies. That suggests both slow auto-focus and noisy auto-focus. I suspect that it is one of the less suitable lenses for any video that includes audio or video of moving objects. Later native M4/3 lenses with MSC auto-focus are better optimized for video. |
Question: | how does this perform when shooting video |
Answer: | Yes it works very well, but you need and adapter for micro 4/3. Try this one, is cheap and also works as good as an Olympus adapter:http://www.amazon.com/Eggsnow-VILTROX-Adapter-Olympus-Panasonic/dp/B00IXI07S6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_p_10?ie=UTF8&refRID=1GGFBZV3XAZRW56QN8RX |
Question: | Will this work on a Pen E-PL |
Answer: | Yes, but ..., you will need a 4/3 to micro 4/3 adapter to make it work. I own this lens an use it on an Olympus OMD EM1.1 with good success, using the Olympus MMF-3 adapter. Other adapters are available from both Olympus (MMF-3, MMF-2) and Panasonic DMW-MA1. The adapter is pass-through, with no lens, just providing the correct lens to senor distance and transferring the mount pins. This is a very good lens for the price--even with the adapter. You can mix and match the adapters between Olympus and Panasonic m.FT cameras and adapters with no problems. The Panasonic adapter is usually a bit lower cost. The Olympus MM-3 is water-proof. |
