Setting new standards in image resolution

FUJIFILM have developed a new CMOS sensor called the X-Trans CMOS. The X-Trans CMOS sensor is capable of delivering resolution that is parallel, if not superior, to a full frame sensor. The new color filter array paves the way for an ideal sensor that does not need an optical low-pass filter. While the optical low-pass filter is indispensable for the reduction of moire and false color generated by conventional sensors, it also degrades resolution. FUJIFILM has developed a new color filter array that is inspired by the random arrangement of fine film grain, removing the need for an optical low-pass filter to solve moire and false color issues. In the array, RGB pixels are arranged in 6x6 pixel sets with high aperiodicity (randomness). Increasing the degree of randomness eliminates the fundamental cause of moire and false colors – a problem that occurs in conventional arrays when shooting stripes and other repeating patterns. The presence of an R, G and B pixel in every vertical and horizontal pixel series minimizes the generation of false colors and delivers higher color reproduction. As a result of using a film-inspired array, a more powerful EXR Processor Pro is required to process the image signal data. This development will maximize the full potential of the X-Trans CMOS sensor and deliver high speed and high precision image processing.



Prime FUJINON XF lenses deliver the highest image quality

Fujinon lenses have long been associated with delivering high quality images, with optics used for both broadcast TV and medium format cameras. Now the expertise borne out of this enviable optical heritage has been put into lenses for the FUJIFILM X-Pro1. Three compact XF Fujinon fast aperture prime lenses will be sold separately. The "XF18mmF2 R", "XF 35mmF1.4 R" and "XF60mmF2.4 R Macro" all offer precise control over depth-of-field and deliver excellent out-of-focus bokeh thanks to the design of the molded aperture diaphragm blades. The blades are curved to create a circular image at all aperture settings, while the very edges of each blade are meticulously rounded off rather than simply cut off, which delivers a sharper image. In addition, the solid feel of the high-quality metal barrel and detailed exposure setting in 1/3 step increments using the aperture ring fuel your desire to capture more photos with every shot.



FUJIFILM original "X-Mount" maximizes lens performance

Specifically designed to maximize the mirrorless design of the body the X-Mount has a short flange back distance of just 17.7mm. This means the rear lens elements are as close as possible to the sensor. The wide opening allows the lens to be mounted deeper within the body – up to 7.5mm (approx) from the mount surface – reducing the back focus distance of each lens to the minimum possible, thus achieving high resolution all the way to the edge of the image.



Hybrid Multi Viewfinder

FUJIFILM's revolutionary Hybrid Viewfinder first appeared in the X100. With its ability to instantly switch between an Optical Viewfinder and Electronic Viewfinder the Hybrid Viewfinder has added a new dimension to the pleasure of composing photographs. For the brightest viewing image, and to keep shutter lag to a minimum, users should choose the Optical Viewfinder. Those wanting focus confirmation, exposure information, white balance information and depth of field indicators should switch to Electronic Viewfinder. The Electronic Viewfinder provides an excellent "Live View" of your composition. This fusion of technologies allows users to enjoy composing their images through a bright viewfinder, but has the option to overlay vital picture taking information should this be required. Changing between the two viewfinders is simple, thanks to the switch on the front of the X-Pro1 body. When attaching a FUJINON XF-series lens on X-Pro1, both the viewfinder magnification and bright frame size automatically switch to support the lens focal length. Viewfinder magnification switches to 0.37x for the 18mm lens, and to 0.60x when the 35mm or 60mm lens is mounted, letting you compose your shot with the bright, crystal clarity of an optical image. The X-Pro1 also gives you the freedom to manually set a focal distance and switch between viewfinder magnifications.



Cutting edge technology in a beautiful camera body

• The top and base are made from die-cast aluminum alloy which, combined with high quality touches like precise engraving on the top-plate and hand-enamelled lettering on the lenses, underlines the fact that the entire X-Pro1 system is built without compromise.
• This eye for detail extends to the shutter speed dial and exposure compensation control that is precision milled from solid metal. Details like the shutter speed dial lock mechanism and the recessed exposure compensation dial are designed to prevent accidental movement of settings. The knurled finish on the sides of the dials feature rows of minutely milled squared pyramids for superb grip and confidence.
• "Made in Japan" confirms that every part of the construction has had to meet FUJIFILM's highest standards.
• The lightweight, precision-milled lens hood (included with the lens) has been exclusively designed and machined from aluminum for the FUJINON XF lens. It's compact size delivers superb light shading performance in a design that perfectly matches X-Pro1 styling.
• Diameters of the aperture ring and focus ring of the 3 Fujinon XF-series interchangeable lenses are only slightly larger than the barrel for sleek uniformity of design. Extending FUJIFILM's photo film legacy

• In film cameras, multiple exposures is the unique photographic technique of superimposing one image on another by double exposing a single frame of film. Through advanced digital processing the X-Pro1 can simulate this technique - just select Multiple Exposure mode and take your first shot. By viewing it in the Hybrid Multi Viewfinder or on the LCD screen, you can see how the finished multiple exposure will look and precisely frame the second shot.
• Further enhancements have been made to the Film Simulation modes with the new Professional Color Negative Film Modes (Pro Neg. Std and Pro Neg. Hi) designed for X-Pro1 users working in the studio. If you'd like to shoot the same scene in a variety of Film Simulation modes, the X-Pro1 offers Film Simulation bracketing, along with AE, Dynamic and ISO bracketing.
• FUJIFILM has also included Film Simulation modes, where the X-Pro1 simulates the colors and tonal qualities of popular FUJIFILM emulsions. These include the vibrant colors of Velvia, the softer skin tones of ASTIA and the natural look of PROVIA.
• Enhance Monochrome Expression with Color Filters - Replicating the effects of monochrome film photography the X-Pro1 lets you use color filters to expand your photographic interpretation. Heighten contrast with the yellow filter and red filter or brighten greens and deepen reds with the green filter. Question:	Will old X-mount lenses, like those for the Fujica AX-3 work with this camera
Answer:	Unfortunately there is not a whole lot you can do with reels to speed up the gear ratios within a reel. The only real thing you can control is to make sure that spool is FULL of line. The more full the spool is, the faster the pick-up. If you're looking for a much faster reel retrieve speed, you should really look at the larger low-profile reels like the Shimano Curado 300s, Garcia Toro Winches, or the Shimano Tranx. All of those will have much faster retrieve speeds than pretty much any traditional round reel baitcaster. I myself use round reels when I'm running big baits that pull hard where speed isn't as much of a concern because it is so much easier to crank. Answer:	I bought the reel for my husband, and he isn't here to help, but I looked on the Shimano site and think I have a good guess. The numbers seem to be related to the size of the reels and how much line they can hold. As they get bigger, they also weigh more and have different gear ratios. This affects the rate of retrieval per crank and the larger reels have greater maximum drag. This is my guess, and I hope it helps.

Answer:	I have no experience with off brand flashes, but I hear from a lot of other photographers that the brand doesn't matter like it used to. I would say read the review on the flash first, maybe post this question there too. Maybe even google "best third party flashes for Canon"
Question:	Can I use my wireless remote with the 80D for long exposure work? & 2) my Canon & Tamron lens which fit my 70D
Answer:	1 - Yes, so long as it is compatible. If it worked with your 70D then it will work with the 80D. Also, you can download the Canon Camera Connect app which connects it to a smartphone. This lets that be used for many functions, including as a remote. It's really cool, if you haven't checked it out then you should. 2 - Any lens that fit your 70D will fit this camera. It can use all EF and EF-S lenses, or third party equivalents. I will say that I love my 80D, but I have heard that it is an incremental upgrade over the 70D. If I may, let me give you some advice... Question, is the reason you want this because it is the latest and greatest? If so, then you might be better off getting a new lens instead, something like the EF-S 17-55m F2.8 IS USM, or maybe the EF 100mm F2.8L macro, or even the EF 70-200mm F2.8L USM (yummy!). A higher quality lens will add new dimensions to your bag, producing higher quality images in lower light, at faster speeds, and with bokeh if that is something you would like to have. If you are getting it because your 70D needs replaced, then the 80D is a great choice. Otherwise I personally advise people to avoid making incremental upgrades, and instead add something new to your bag; upgrading glass should be higher priority than upgrading the body. A new body might add cool new features, but the lenses you have are what unlock a camera’s potential. Put a mediocre lens on a new camera, and you take the same photos, just now with more features that don't really do anything to take a better photo. Not trying to sound like a know-it-all, just wanted to make sure you had some good info. If you would like more info about the 80D, then you should check out the review I have on my profile. Answer:	It may not be helpful to say, but there is always a better option. Personally, if I had more of a budget, I would have purchased a full-frame Canon camera such as the 5d mark iii. When it comes to comparing the 7d mark ii and the 80d, I would choose the 80d. It has better user features overall, not to mention it will have the advantage of the latest improvements Canon has made with its sensor technology in the last two years (The 7d iii announcement date was Sept. of 2014, while the 80d was Feb. of 2016.) The 7d has a higher maximum ISO rating, but having not used it, I can't comment on how usable the upper range is. The 80d still looks respectable when you use higher ISO settings. That said, when taking pictures of food, I'll guess you will have a controlled environment and low light won't be something you are worried about. A site I use for comparisons of cameras is CameraDecision.com. They do side by side comparisons that are very useful. Using this site, they show the 80d would be a superior choice to the 7d mark ii.

Answer:	I have the 80d , because I shoot a lot of landscapes, portraits, and macro photography. I don't shoot action sports, so I don't need the 7d II for that. But I do use the articulating screen, the wifi, and the high dynamic range of the 80d. It is all a matter of what kind of photos you take. If you are shooting a lot of outdoor action sports, or fast-moving wildlife , go with the 7d II. For everything else, go with the 80d.

Answer:	I purchased one in July, it was silver/bronze colored. I clicked on my old order, seeing the color I described, but when it opens now, it shows the black one that you see. So maybe they just changed to color. It's the same title for both reels, hopefully the color is the only difference, I do like the reel, except I broke my rod I had for it and now the reel is just sitting in the basement.

Expanded Phase Detection AF Area

The Fujifilm X100F features phase detection AF using phase detection pixels on the sensor. The phase detection area on the sensor has been increased by approx. 230% as compared to previous models. The camera uses 91 focus points (up to 325 points) for high-speed and high-accuracy focusing as compared to 49 points in previous models The AF algorithm itself has been revised to ensure accurate focusing even in difficult conditions such as low-contrast scenes in overcast weather.

New Built-In ISO Dial

New features in the Fujifilm X100F include the Built-In ISO Dial, incorporated into the Shutter Speed Dial reminiscent of film cameras of yesteryear, the focus lever, which allows you to instantaneously move the focus area without having to take your eye off the viewfinder, and the 'C' position for enabling ±5 stop exposure compensation. Real Time Parallax Correction

Parallax, i.e. a displacement of the shooting frame in the viewfinder from the actual area to be photographed especially in close-ups, is automatically corrected in real time. Even in OVF mode, the X100F automatically corrects the position of the shooting frame and focus area upon focusing, and displays them correctly for more accurate composition.

C' Position For Enabling ±5-Step Exposure Compensation

The ergonomically placed exposure compensation dial supports compensation of up to ±3-step in 1/3 steps. Put the dial into 'C' position and operate the Front Command Dial to achieve exposure compensation of up to ±5-step while checking the results in your EVF in real time. This lets you capture perfectly exposed moments exactly as intended.

Choice Of Six AF Modes To Suit Each Scene

The Fujifilm X100F offers AF-S for stationary subjects and AF-C for moving subjects. For both options, you can choose either Single Point AF, Zone AF or Wide / Tracking AF, in which the camera automatically selects multiple areas for focusing. Answer:	My main concern as well. There is the option to use either 35mm or 47mm focal lengths by internal cropping of the image. I've used the 35mm option a bit and it's more than acceptable, depending on your final use. What it does is reduce a Large JPEG file to a Medium with 35mm and Small with 47mm.
