Answer:	I don't know if it will work on a Solo 3DR. I have the unit mounted on a X-525 V2 frame and it is used with a GoPro Hero 6 Black. With just two flights on the setup, it appears to provide rock solid video right out of the box. I replaced a bargain gimbal that worked pretty good, but this whole rig is much lighter.

Answer:	Not 100% sure but I would say no because it has to update itself to the two on board computer on they solo stabilization programming

Answer:	This is a gimbal designed for a 3DR Solo. It's not a DIY gimbal. Other choices would provide much better integration with a roll cage. This is balanced for a GoPro on a Solo.

Answer:	I have the same problem. First the drone is awesome and I am having a blast flying it. The only way you can use the hero 5 black is by using your own mount, pressing record on the camera before you take off and then when you land ending the recording. The HDMI cable on the drone will transmit back to the app, but the app will not show the correct stream because the app is not made for that camera. I bought the best buy deal for 299 that gets you the extra battery and gimble. After multiple attempts and forums I can not get my hero 5 to work. I am just going to buy the hero 3 off of ebay. It still works out cheaper. Hope this helps.
