Our Story

Ken Horan – Founder

Lakefall Gear is a young company founded by an old guy. My name is Ken Horan and at present, I am 63 years old. Having been stuck in the grind of everyday life, like most of us, I got lost just working way too many hours each day for way too many years. It was always just get up and make enough money to live. It wasn’t until a few years back when my younger brother bought a camera that I realized I needed that creative release as well. I then bought a camera for myself. It was just a used starter one off of eBay. That small investment into myself started a spark inside me to see things differently. Our adventures went from our home town architecture to random fields taking photos of small insects. Seeing those pictures drove me to find more outside. I started going to our local nature center and seeing things that I just didn’t take the time to see before. There I also found I needed more power in my eyes than what I have. That is where my passion to begin Lakefall Gear began and then release our first product the Hawkeye monocular. It really helped me see things in the distance. There is where also I found and hope you find.
