User questions & answers

Question: can it fits other microscope brands
Answer: The inside is molded specifically for the Nikon YS. Other similarly shaped instruments may fit, but we cannot endorse using the case for any other model.
Question: I just want to verify. Will this hold a YS
Answer: We're glad you asked! The case is manufactured for the YS microscope, and we can only recommend it to be used for such. The YS has an arm that is angled at 90 degrees. The YS2 microscope has an arm that is angled at 45 degrees. The molded plastic of the case inside could be customized to fit the YS2 by removing a portion where the arm would rest. That being said, any alteration or customization of the case is at the buyers risk and will void any possibilty of return.

2000X magnification with 100X oil immersion objective

OMAX compound biological microscope offers eight level magnifications from 40X to 2000X. The microscope has 5X, 10X, 40X, and 100X objectives.

Coarse and Fine focusing

Coaxial coarse & fine focus knobs on both sides. This ergonomic designs helps adjusting the focus easily to achieve your desired result.

Variable LED intensity transmitted illumination

Transmitted illumination can be found in this product as it has a LED light of which the intensity can be customized depending on the situation. It also lasts much longer than a typical halogen bulb.

User questions & answers

Question: can this microscope be used in hospital
Answer: Dear Customer, Thank you for asking. It actually depends on what you want to observe through this microscope, our SW380B offers detailed, cellular-level views of transparent or dyed specimens prepared and mounted on a slide. If you want to observe live cells like reb blood cell, I'm afraid that it is not capable of doing that. Anything else we can help, please let us know. All the best Annie
Question: Does the item come fully assembled
Answer: Dear Barry, Thanks for contacting us. Yes, the item is fully assembled. Yours Sincerely Susan Swift Official Customer Service Store: www.amazon.com/swift
Question: Can you use normal objects like leaves and grass
Answer: Dear Matthew, Thank you for asking. Compound microscope like this one offers detailed, cellular-level views of transparent or dyed specimens prepared and mounted on a slide. For magnifying solid objects, we would recommend you to use a stereo microscope(www.amazon.com/dp/B07G92FG7L) as the view of leaves and grass under a compound microscope(also depends on the thickness) may not be that good compared to a stereo microscope. Thank you. Yours Sincerely Susan Swift Official Service
Question: Are the knobs as un-ergonomic as they look
Answer: Not sure what you mean by unergonomic? The knobs seem pretty standard for microscopes to me. I found them to be quite smooth and easy to focus with especially the inner knob. Shouldn’t be a problem for most people

Product features

Product Description:

Features a Siedentopf binocular head that rotates 360 degrees for shared use and allows quick adjustments for different interpupillary distances without losing focus. The head can be locked in any position for additional stability. Ocular tubes are tilted at an ergonomic 30 degrees to reduce neck and eye strain. The microscope comes with two pairs of interchangeable 10X and 25X glass ocular eyepieces, which combine with the four achromatic DIN objectives -- 4X, 10X, 40X(Spring), and 100X(Spring, Oil) -- in the rotating nosepiece to provide 6 magnification levels between 40X and 2500X.

The focusing system of the SW380B truly shines, with an ultra-precise fine focusing knob that allows incredibly exact adjustments for the clearest possible image at each magnification. An LED bulb beneath the stage transmits light up through an industry-standard NA 1.25 Abbe condenser and iris diaphragm. Manually move the condenser closer to or farther from the stage to adjust brightness and evenness of light as well as image contrast. A metal slide holder locks specimens into place for viewing on the sizeable double-layered mechanical stage while the x-y translational control knob moves the stage and the slide holder left-to-right and front-to-back, eliminating the need to re-clip slides in order to view the entire specimen.

Easy to move, with a built-in handle that fits securely against the palm. Power supply is built directly into the microscope base. Kit comes with power cord, blue filter, immersion oil, and dust cover.

What can you see with it? Compound microscopes offer detailed, cellular-level views of transparent or dyed specimens prepared and mounted on a slide. (For magnifying solid objects, use a stereo microscope.)
