Lens Coatings: Nikon monoculars often feature multi-coated or fully multi-coated lenses. These coatings enhance light transmission, reduce glare, and improve image clarity and brightness.
Waterproof and Fogproof: Many Nikon monocular models are designed to be waterproof and fogproof, allowing you to use them in various weather conditions without worrying about moisture damage.
Durable Construction: Nikon monoculars are typically built to be robust and withstand outdoor use. They may have rubberized armor for added protection against bumps and shocks.

Tripod Compatibility: Certain Nikon monoculars have a threaded socket that allows you to mount them on a tripod for stable, hands-free viewing.
Image Quality: Nikon is known for producing optics with high-quality image clarity, color accuracy, and sharpness. This translates into a clear and detailed view through their monoculars.
Field of View: The field of view (FOV) of Nikon monoculars varies depending on the model. A wider FOV is advantageous for tracking fast-moving objects or observing a broader area.
Eyepiece Design: Nikon monoculars often have twist-up or twist-down eyecups, making them comfortable to use with or without eyeglasses.
Accessories: Some Nikon monoculars come with accessories such as carrying cases, neck straps, lens caps, and lens cleaning tools to help protect and maintain the monocular.
Price Range: Nikon monoculars are available in a range of price points to accommodate different budgets and preferences. More advanced features and higher magnification may come at a higher cost.
Nikon's reputation for optical quality and innovation extends to their monocular offerings. When selecting a Nikon monocular, consider your intended use, whether it's for birdwatching, hiking, sporting events, or general observation. User questions & answers
Question: | How close is close focus- can you ID a butterfly in your hand |
Answer: | I’m not sure but I can tell you not to buy this model much less anything from atn. I was sold a defective unit and tried to claim warranty but since they no longer make this model they do not back their warranty. Very bad company |
Question: | Hi all, I've read many reviews, and the specs...but am still unclear about what the "close focus" is. 1 foot? 10 feet? thanks |
Answer: | There are two adapters available, one that mounts to a Pic rail and another that adapts to your scope. Both should include a 1x lens to replace the 3x lens that is included on the monocle. Be wary that they are hard to come by now and cost a couple hundred dollars. |
Question: | I have heard that 8x is easier to hold steady than 10x, but the 8x25 is only 4.2in long. Does this not also hinder holding steady |
Answer: | No. It has a tripod mount. It's strictly a spotting scope & does not have crosshairs. |
Question: | how close is close focus |
Answer: | Absolutely |
Question: | Can this be fitted on a rhino mount |
Answer: | No, these do not have any kind of mount. The Thor is the model that had a weapon mount. |
Question: | Can you adapt the ATN Night Spirit-2 Gen 2 + Night Vision Multi Purpose System to a daytime rifle scope? Thans |
Answer: | Yes it is. It has several different options I prefer the white hot for pigs |
Question: | Does this come with a picatiny mount |
Answer: | Animals and humans are visible out to several hundred yards but much beyond 100 yards or so they will just be a small blobs of pixels, very difficult to identify. I would say identifying a small animal like a coyote or rabbit is limited to about 50 yards or less, larger animals a bit further. Generally I would say this is a very short range thermal optic. |
Question: | I use this in a survival game. Can you find people hiding in the daytime forest? The temperature is 10-30 degrees |
Answer: | Are you hunting humans like the show the most dangerous game. If so this is cheating. Shame on you. |
Question: | Can i use it for rifles like ak-47 and ar |
Answer: | That is a hard question to answer not having a range finder on my thermal. You can see thermal signatures well over a 1000yds, but here in East Texas I don't hunt anywhere that I could view that kind of distance, however at 350 yards, I can easily determine what animal I am looking at whether it is a pig, raccoon, buck or doe, I can even see a mouse at that distance. I know that may not be the answer your looking for, but I hope it helps. |
Question: | Is this unit a true thermal rifle scope? With various thermal video coloring options |
Answer: | i believe 50hz |
Question: | What's the range |
Answer: | The specified video recording frame rate is 30 frames/second. They do not have a spec for sensor framing rate but direct viewing or reviewing video appears as good as television when viewing motion of an object. |
Question: | I use this in a survival game. Can you find people hiding in the daytime forest? The temperature is 10-30 degrees |
Answer: | It’s an internal rechargeable battery! |
Question: | what is the max range this can see a thermal signature ? wolf/bear/Bison @ 1500 yards |
Answer: | Yes, it comes with a full ATN warranty. |
Question: | How many hertz are in this scope |
Answer: | Personally no I have not used it but I have used the full X-Sight scope and find it very reliable. |
Question: | what Hz is it |
Answer: | 30mm standard rings are included with item |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this binocualars appropriate for watching birds and wildlife in Alaska |
Answer: | Perfect! I have been told the Nikon lenses are the best and these are remarkably clear. The pair I bought are used to watch wildlife too and they will not disappoint. I was followed by a Steller eagle everday on my walks and she was so big I didn't need binoculars. Now I can see every feather! Best of luck in finding some great wildlife! |
Question: | Does it come with a case and lens protectors |
Answer: | Yes, but’s its a bit lacking. The soft sided case will protect against scratches, and will provide very good protection of the 4 outer lenses should you lose the well designed lens caps...but drop them from not even a table top height and they can get a devastating crack or complete snap off!! considering the quality of the binoculars (5 stars) I would expect something that offers more protection. I’ve had Minolta and other Nikons and the and the industry’s standards have gotten worse....Can’t they bring back the original hard cases?? And bring them back without a huge fee? |
Question: | I know nothing about binoculars. Am looking for small,l lightweight to watch granddaughter at indoor gymnastics meets. They move all around |
Answer: | these binoculars magnify things 10x greater than your normal vision. For an indoor gymnastics event I would look at something in the 3x - 8x magnification the 42 refers to the field of view. This might be okay for a gym depending on where you are sitting and size of the gym. |
Question: | What is the difference between the 8x42 or 10x |
Answer: | The first number; that is the 8 or the 10 refers to the magnification value. So, with a 10x42 you can bring things closer than with an 8x42. The 42 refers to the aperture or the size of the opening in the front element. The larger the aperture, the more light and things appear brighter. Choosing really depends on what you're using the binocular for and in what kind of light. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what lens cover do u guys got? i received with only eye lens cover. no object lense cover |
Answer: | It's a SOFT case and doesn't appear to have any heavy padding inside, although the lining is a spongy material. I wouldn't call it 'shockproof'. It depends on from how high a distance it is dropped or how hard it is bumped. For normal use, it's okay. I wouldn't put any high-end equipment in something like this. Works for me though. |
Question: | How much do they weigh |
Answer: | The internal dimensions: 42mm case is 16.1x12.2x5.5 cm(6.34x4.80x2.16 inch), 50mm case is 19.0x14.0x6.1 cm(7.48x5.51x2.40 inch), Manual measurement may lead to some errors, hope helps. |
Question: | What kind of strap does this come with? Is it the nikon embroidered one |
Answer: | Choose a smaller case unless you are going to put a lot of accessories in the case with the binoculars. |
Question: | DO they fold |
Answer: | Yes, absolutely it does! One of our reviews even mentions how nice this feature is and we are grateful to the customer who mentioned it. Thank you for bringing this to our attention that no pic is currently shoring this. We will adjust the listing so this is visible. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the difference between the monarch 5 7576 and the monarch 3 7540, what are the different features, and the difference in the optical quality |
Answer: | My brother is the expert that gave me all of my information. I don't understand all the technical stuff, but he said that there is a huge difference in the quality of the "glass" between the 3 and the 5. The clarity is well worth the difference in price. I have used my husbands hunting bins for bird watching (one pair was a Nikon brand) and believe me, my monarch 5 7576 is so much clearer than his, I am afraid to let him borrow them for fear I won't get them back. Haha. |
Question: | Are these binocs... the Monarch 5 10x42 good for long distance viewing for instance at the beach, looking out on the ocean at ships or for whales |
Answer: | The power is adequate enough to enhance the view but not so powerful that you can't hold steady on the image. So no, you won't get long distance detail but it will bring the image closer. I find high powered binocs almost impossible to hold steady. These are the perfect balance. I love them. |
Question: | What comes in the box? carry case? strap |
Answer: | carry case, strap, lens covers for both front and back and user manuals. Suggest you purchase the pencil style Nikon lens cleaning tool as well... Very handy and only $7.00. we live at the beach. The optics are indeed amazing for the price. |
Question: | Should I be really concerned about the adverse reviews on the lens caps |
Answer: | Yes & No. I use binoculars for my work and own several pairs of various manufacturer's bino's & spotting scopes. These binoculars are a great value. At this price point, in my experience, they have better than average optical quality and build quality for this price range. The lens caps are junk. Nikon claims the ocular (eye piece) lens cover is purposely designed for a loose fit....they fit so loosely they fail to protect the lens from dust & dirt. The PRIMARY job of a lens cap is to protect the lenses, not be convenient. If you are at all active while wearing them, the lens cover will come off, providing no protection, increasing the risk of damage. Also, the highest likelihood of damage to lenses comes from improper cleaning and you will be cleaning the ocular lenses often. Be careful, use the right soft cloth or a lens pen, and try not to scratch or remove the coatings. The Objective lens covers are a little better. They fit better and were redesigned to have both an inner and outer lip to grip the barrels better. They are attached to the barrels, but over time, the plastic tether will break. Nikon will send you replacements when this happens. I do find you must swivel these caps out of the way. If you don't, they have a tendency to pop up into your field of view. The sad thing is every time I use these, these little, easily solved problems are a constant annoyance. I tried installing a thin strip of duct tape on the ocular lens cover, which helped them fit better, but over time, the tape slips when it's warm out and you get a sticky mess on your eyepieces. Thank God for Goo Gone. I wish Nikon would pay attention to their Customers and fix the problem. |

A Crystal-clear Field of View Attributable to Nikon Sophisticated Optical Technology
True to its legendary name and reputation, the MONARCH Fieldscope brings the excitement of awe-inspiring observation and incredible visual experiences to the eye of its beholder. MONARCH’S Advanced apochromat system of ED glass and proprietary lens and prism coatings delivers true color fidelity with high resolution integrity.
Nikon's Optical Finesse
Nikon has developed eyepieces exclusively for MONARCH Fieldscopes. Each employs a new optical system, and a Field Flattener Lens System that delivers consistent sharpness and clarity across the entire field of view. Engineered to provide a wide field of view, MONARCH eyepieces also provide sufficiently long eye relief. Thus, not only do you enjoy peerless viewing — you can also perform collimate photography with a compact digital camera. When attached to a Fieldscope, each of the three new MEP eyepieces are waterproof*, ensuring safe use even during unexpected weather changes
Advanced Apochromat Optical System with ED (Extra-low Dispersion) Glass Minimizes Color Fringing to the Furthest Limit of the Visible Light Range
Nikon’s ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass ensures a contrast-rich and colorful field of view. By designing the entire optical system from the ground up, Nikon’s Advanced Apochromat Optical System corrects not only chromatic aberrations of red, blue and green but also violet chromatic aberration to the furthest limits of the visible light range. The result is unimaginably sharp, high-contrast views.
Multilayer Coating for Natural Color Fidelity
Multilayer coating is applied to all lens and prism surfaces, allowing powerful light transmission. The resulting bright field of view delivers true-to-life natural colors. Coating also greatly reduces the flare and ghosting that can occur in backlit situations.
