2 best is binoculars
Binoculars, those magical lenses that bring the distant world into clear focus! Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a sports fan, or a stargazer, a good pair of binoculars can enhance your viewing experience.
Magnification and Objective Lens Diameter: Binoculars are often labeled with two numbers, like 8x42. The first number is the magnification factor, meaning the object appears eight times closer than it does to the naked eye. The second number is the diameter of the objective lens in millimeters.Larger lenses allow more light, making them suitable for low-light conditions.
Field of View: This is the width of the area visible through the binoculars. A wider field of view is beneficial for activities like birdwatching or sports, where you want to capture a broader scene.
Prism Type: Binoculars use prisms to correct the orientation of the image. There are two main types: roof prisms and porro prisms. Roof prisms result in a more streamlined design, while porro prisms offer better depth perception.
Coatings: Anti-reflective coatings on the lenses enhance image brightness and clarity. Look for terms like "fully coated," "multi-coated," or "fully multi-coated" for optimal performance.
Exit Pupil: Calculated by dividing the objective lens diameter by the magnification, the exit pupil determines how bright the image appears in low-light conditions. A larger exit pupil is preferable for low-light situations.
Waterproof and Fogproof: If you plan to use your binoculars in various weather conditions, opt for a waterproof and fogproof pair. This ensures that your lenses won't fog up in damp or cold environments.
Focus System: There are two main focus systems: center focus and individual focus. Center focus is more common, with a central knob adjusting both barrels simultaneously. Individual focus allows you to set each eyepiece separately for a more customized view.
Eye Relief: Important for glasses wearers, eye relief is the distance from the eyepiece to where your eye should be for the full field of view. A longer eye relief is more comfortable for those who wear glasses.
Remember, the best binoculars for you depend on your specific needs and preferences. Whether you're observing wildlife, enjoying a game, or exploring the night sky, the right pair of binoculars can turn a regular view into a spectacular one.

User questions & answers
Question: | Do they come with a case and a strap |
Answer: | Yes they came with a case and a strap. Strangely they only come with two lens caps leaving two lens uncapped. |
Question: | Do the Binoculars come with batteries |
Answer: | 12x36 come with AA batteries. You do not have to use rechargeable. Any AA battery will work |
Question: | Has anyone used these on a 24 foot boat in moderate conditions |
Answer: | Yes and no. I've used them on an 18 foot boat in various conditions. They won't stop the up and down of the boat. So they won't "level" out everything. They will stop or level out your unsteadiness, to a degree. Let me put it to you this way; They won't be like you are on the hard, but they will be better than anything else. |
Question: | What can I do about the outside getting sticky and turns my hands black? Thank you |
Answer: | No, Deet and oils from your hands is not the problem. Both my Cannon binoculars have the sticky, gooey problem and I only used them with clean hands and have always stored them in a cool place. It happens when the polymer crosslinks break apart, a very well know process. There is no cure and oxygen if the main culprit. Why Cannon doesn't use a better shell for the binoculars is something beyond me. Cannon is a dishonest company. I have spent $1600 on the two binoculars and feel like this company has ripped me off since they have know of the problem for years! They still deny its a problem!!! |
