It's a much _much_ stronger physical antenna than built-in antennas hardwired into devices such as laptops etc. Those are okay but only as long as you are within spitting distance of the router. Technically there is no networking cable involved so you are cordlessly networking. For about 5 or maybe 10 feet and then the signal starts to degrade considerably. When you plug in this TP-Link Archer T9UH yes it is a physical attachment, and does have a physical cord, but that is to the antenna & the laptop (or corresponding device), not a tether (umbilical cord or leash-like) between where the T9UH and the (Router) wifi signal is coming from. You are still free to roam and move around, completely wirelessly networked to your signal, except with _much_ greater signal strength and stability than, for example, the onboard built-in wifi antenna of a laptop or tablet already has. This product is both an expansion of your current resources, but more importantly is a far _far_ superior improvement in performance and stability. |
