Answer:	Not this one specifically, but I have regularly used large diaphragm DYNAMIC mics much like this one (actually a Shure SM7b) and they work fine on vocals. Its a fairly flat frequency response with a slight bump in the upper midrange, and the proximity effect helps beef up thin sounding vocals. So yes, a quote-unquote "broadcast mic" can work just as well for singing as for spoken word. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Answer:	As some of the others have mentioned, this mic is not what you are looking for but the Blue Yeti is perfect for your needs. The internet is filled with mixed reviews about the Blue Yeti but as someone who has nearly 30 years of experience as an audio engineer, I can tell you that it's a fabulous mic, especially for your particular application. I currently record multi-person podcasts daily using the Yeti in omni mode while hanging overhead for multiple speakers/conversational situations, a Rode Podcaster as the daily driver for one of the on-air personalities and a Shure SM7B for another on-air personality and I'm extremely happy with the performance of all three mics. I also use an Audio Technica AT2020 sometimes when we have an additional guest in the studio.One thing to keep in mind - you will need to understand your workstation and have a plan on how to set up your gear, as the Yeti is a USB mic (unless you get the pro model which takes both XLR and USB) while the AT2020 is an XLR and so on... you get the idea. With these two different formats I often see people purchasing both kinds without first figuring out how they are going to get all these mics to play nicely with one another. Do your homework on how you're going to hook everything up and you should be just fine. Good luck!

Answer:	Yes, you could definitely use this to record voice acting. Especially if you are recording from home. What you also need is an audio interface to record. I also suggest looking into the the Rode NT1 which is the newer version of this mic. Either one is a great mic. I own them both.

Answer:	Yes, this is a large diaphragm condenser microphone. The "large diaphragm" refers to the circular surface that you see behind the mesh screen of the mic. Large means a larger circular surface as opposed to a smaller circular surface. When you sing, rap, play instrument, etc. in front of the mic, the sound that you generate vibrates against the diaphragm creating the electronic signal that is transferred through the mic into your recorder or PA system (in live performances; although generally condenser mics are preferred in the studio while dynamic mics are preferred for live performances due to the sensitivity of condenser mics to loud sounds, i.e., live performances). The size of the diaphragm (in this case large) affects the clarity, volume, EQ, and general signal quality that you get. Large diaphragm microphones (LDMs) are generally the choice for studio vocals, and any instrument recording where a more "deep" sound is desired. A large diaphragm microphone generally warms up the sound of what it's recording, which also leads to the myth that most LDMs reproduce low frequencies better than small diaphragm mics; this isn't true, in fact, small diaphragm mics are much better at reproducing everything evenly, including bass. You'll want a pop screen if using a condenser microphone for vocals; they're so sensitive to transient noises that the "P" and "SH" sounds you make will cause distortion. Small diaphragm microphones (SDMs) are generally the best choice where you want a solid, wide frequency response and the best transient response, which is the ability for your microphone to reproduce fast sounds, such as stringed instruments. Answer:	These are not binaural microphones; however they could be use as part of a binaural rig if you have a dummy head or some other similar apparatus in which to mount them that would mimic the spacing and shape of human ears.

Answer:	To record with these mics, you would need two balanced XLR cables. You would also need some sort of pre-amp into which to plug them which is capable of supplying phantom power. You would also need a recording device. Many recording devices include preamps and phantom power so that you can run the XLR cable directly into the recorder. As a baseline for a quality recording device, consider something like the Zoom F4 or the Sound Devices MixPre3 or MixPre3M. Zoom also makes less expensive devices, but the preamps really lack in quality by comparison.
Question:	How well would these work in video production
Answer:	It would depend upon what you intend to shoot. The best uses for the microphones would include things such as choral or acoustic music in a controlled environment. If you intend to capture ambient or general sound such as machinery, ocean waves, dogs barking, cars driving by, these would be quite sufficient. If you intent to capture dialogue, I would suggest either a worn mic, a handheld mic (if you don't mind it being in the shot), or a shotgun mic (with or without a handheld boom). For the M5s to work well for dialogue, they would need to be so close to the speaker that they would necessarily be in the shot on a stand as these cannot be handheld without serious handling noise. You would need something much more directional to get decent sounding speech.These microphones arranged properly basically pick up the same sounds that our ears do in real space--but that doesn't always quite work for video. In real life, our brains do a fantastic trick of filtering out all of the background or unwanted sounds so that we can zero in on what we are trying to hear. Video confuses that process in our brains, so we have to take a different tact. We have to capture sound that actually isn't perfectly true to life, but makes it seem that way when we watch the video.I don't intend to be patronizing with this response; I just want you to get what you really want.

Answer:	That depends on what you mean. If you mean self noise (electrical noise made by the mic itself.) No. It is an incredibly quiet mic. But it is also a very sensitive one, so if you are not in a quiet environment, it will pick up background noise.

As a studio mic, it has a directional pickup pattern, but the pattern is much more sensitive on its vertical axis. Although he is displaying the NT1-A instead of the NT1, the concept is the same for both. The Rode NTG-2 (as already mentioned) is designed as a shotgun/booming mic.

Answer:	I have two of the old NT1s. They look like they were made for Soviet military use and are nearly indestructible. You can find a used one for $100 or less and I highly recommend going that avenue to save money and get the same result.
Question:	Will using one of these be good at recording an acoustic grand piano
Answer:	This microphone is good for recording pianos and almost any acoustic instruments. For upright pianos, do not put condenser microphones like this in the piano. Put mic. around the player. You will get better result if you remove both top and bottom plate of the piano, so that strings expose. For grand pianos, put mic. around the top end of the open top plate and a few feet away from the piano.

Answer:	regardless the type of mic you use you are going to want to have a quiet environment. you can always use a closet or bathroom with some blankets behind the mic for sound dampening. I have the rode NT1 and its an amazing microphone I use it for podcasting and voice over work.

Question:	well this work for my animation for lip sync and a use the program audacity and widows 10 well it work
Answer:	As a microphone and interface, it should work with any computer, digital audio software, and OS. Just be aware that it’s a condenser mic, and as such, very sensitive. That means if you don’t have a quiet room or sound proof booth, it will pick up outside ambient noises, many of which can be filtered out later with your DAW. However the kit is great, and the quality is top notch, and the price of the bundle is a huge cost savings. The only potential limitation is that it has a single mic/instrument input, which isn’t a big deal if you’re recording one track at a time. Even though it seems pricey, I’d recommend the road PSA1 articulating microphone arm. It works great in the inverted position, and the pop filter stays well anchored upside down. Answer:	I think this is only compatible with MAC OS, and PC. The NT1 microphone could be purchased separately with the Rode iXLR to accomplish what you want here.

Answer:	Assuming the connector is 3.5mm, you would need a 3.5mm to 1/4” (6.3mm) adapter. The Rode interface will be able to power most easy to drive consumer and professional headphones for monitoring reasonably well.
Question:	Can this product still be used if your computer does not have a usb c port? can i use a usb c to usb type b cable instead
Answer:	The answer to your question is yes! The USB C connection is to the Rode interface, the other end of that connection goes to your computer and that can be the more common USB B connector.

Answer:	Neither of the Rode Apps do voice recognition or convert to text. The sound quality from this mic is probably overkill for your application. If mono sound is OK use a Rode SmartLav mic or similar on the headphone jack and look for an iphone app that does what you want.
Question:	Do you have to buy the Rode Rec app or is it free with the device
Answer:	The Rode Rec app is free but there is also a paid version with more features, although you can use the mic without any of those apps, just use the iPhone as usual and it will record off this mic whenever it's plugged in.
Question:	Can this microphone be used for video recording? Is an extension cable needed for this
Answer:	The video clip mentioned something about using another software program to synchronize the sound. If you're using the mic for close-up shots of conversations, I wonder with increasing the gain is sufficient to synch video and audio.

Answer:	4.9ft/1.5m for the mic cable, and 9.8ft/3m for the extension cable.

Answer:	Yes. For Zoom H6, the mic is compatible if you plug it into the Line In jack on the X/Y capsule that sits on the top of the mic. We are not sure about other capsules, but the X/Y are the most common ones that come with those mics, so that is what the Purple Panda mic is intended for.
