Answer:	I think you might be pushing it to the limit with a 2X Barlow... at max. zoom, there is already vignettting at the outer edges. I would move on to a bigger scope if you want more magnification, personally. It's a good little scope as it is - pushing it beyond its intended design would be like a Ferrari engine in a VW Bug.

Question:	I want to use this for zeroing in at 100 yds....what do u think? Thanks
Answer:	You get what you pay for with this scope. If you are using Shoot-N-C targets that have the bright indicator color, you can use this out to 200yards. On paper targets I had a little trouble seeing bullet holes at 200yards. This is as far as I have shot with this scope and it was used when sighting in my new rifle. I was able to pick out everything at 100yards.
Question:	Is this enough scope to see 5.56 and .308 holes in paper at 200 yards
Answer:	Standard 1/4”. However, if you have one of the newer tripods like a Manfrotto, it also comes with the quick release adapter mounting plate for that so very versatile!
Question:	can the tripod be switched out for a more sturdier one
Answer:	The eye relief is good. The major adjustment is getting use to the angle and finding what you are looking for. So far by the time I find the bird I am looking at. It flies away !! I think this will improve as I get use to using the scope.
Question:	Does any one use this scope at a Shooting range? How good is the magnification at 100 yards, 200 yards, etc
Answer:	The Celestron 52330 TrailSeeker 65 uses standard interchangeable 1.25" eyepieces. It is delivered with what appears to be the Celestron 93230 8 to 24mm 1.25 Zoom Eyepiece, but is marked as 16x - 48x for convenience. (The eyepiece may be removed by loosening the "lock" ring a couple of turns, then sliding the eyepiece away from the `scope.) If replaced by a Celestron 93325 40mm Omni Eyepiece this would give a fixed 9.6x magnification and a wide field of view. The Meade Instruments 07177-02 Super Plossl 1.25-Inch 40-Millimeter Eyepiece will work also. Note: everything in braces is searchable on Amazon.In an earlier reply, I suggested a Focal Reducer like the inexpensive Solomark Multi-Coated 1.25" 0.5x Focal Reducer placed under the Zoom Eyepiece might give the desired 8x - 24x magnification. I have since found this discouraging post at the Celestron website:http://www.celestron.com/support/knowledgebase/articles/can-a-barlow-lens-be-used-with-my-regal-f-ed-spotting-scope "The Regal series of spotting scopes have removable eyepieces and take 1.25 in barrel-diameter oculars. Even though a 1.25 in Barlow and eyepiece will fit into the scope, the design of the focuser on the Regal scopes does not allow infinity focus when using Barlows." So the standard eyepiece will work as calculated, but a Barlow Lens or Focal Reducer will not.

The Maksutov design delivers high power views without a trace of the chromatic aberration, also called blue fringing, that can distort high power views in competing refractor style spotting scopes. At 40X magnification where some low cost spotting scopes start to seem fuzzy, the C90 is just getting started. The C90 uses the same 1.25 inch eyepieces used in astronomical telescopes. The standard equipment 32mm plossl eyepiece yields a magnification of 39X, but many other eyepieces can be used to vary the magnification.

The Celestron model 52268 seems very well built, with excellent multi-coatings visible on the front lens. The real beauty of this 90mm Maksutov spotting scope, however, is in the view it offers. When I use an optional 12.5mm eyepiece to look at Jupiter at 100X I can clearly see Jupiter’s major cloud bands as well as its four moons. When I look at the Moon and stars I can easily push the magnification to 200X with an optional 6mm eyepiece. When I look at birds in the backyard, I’m treated to delightful views full of vibrant color and crisp detail. With a close focus distance of only 15 feet, the detail and texture I see is simply amazing.

High magnification viewing requires a solid tripod, of course. Celestron’s Heavy Duty Altazimuth Tripod comes with slow motion controls to allow the scope to be pointed precisely, and I can clamp the dovetail base on my CG5 mount for astronomical use. The other drawback to high magnification viewing is a narrow field of view; high magnification makes it hard to follow moving targets like birds in flight. Overall the Celestron C90 Maksutov Spotting Scope does a fine job as a companion to good pair of binoculars. The C90 also doubles as a portable astronomy scope; it won’t show the flag on the Moon but it will show thousands of craters on the Moon as well as showing the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn. --Jeff Phillips

Answer:	It's technically the same model (C5) but newer generations of Celestron telescopes are bit more cheaply made. On the other hand, the current model is probably 1/4 the price of what the original versions cost.

Answer:	Yes, the tube has a Vixen style dovetail which is 1.75" wide and runs the entire length of the tube. The dovetail bar also has two 1/4" tripod threads - one towards the rear, and one towards the middle, so that it can be balanced accordingly. It works pretty well using a medium weight camera pan head on a tripod.
