Answer:	Not sure what you consider "regular" but I mounted a canon hf r700 to it. Comparable cameras should be fine.

Answer:	It is steel. BTW- if you are planning on mounting a camera to this, know that it doesn't move as fluidly as a true camera arm. I ended up just using mine for a bow hanger. It works great as a stationary mount for a GoPro but not so great for a camera.

Answer:	The first camera I put on it was a 12 year old Sony. It weighs about 3 1/2 lbs. The mount also has hooks on the bottom side for utility bag, call, etc. The way It mounts to the tree is pretty secure. You can even use the mount it self to torque down the anchor. It will handle a large home video camera without a problem.
