Answer:	All power for this device comes from the TOP outlet of your receptacle -- so if that is switched then all outlets on this device will be switched (or if your bottom outlet is switched then all outlets on this device will NOT be switched).
Question:	What are the actual dimensions of this unit
Answer:	My outlets are flush with the cover plate surface. Both the outlet and cover plate surfaces stand proud of the wall surface about 3/16". After I remove the center screw from the cover plate , install the new wall plug adapter into the original plug [with or without the original wall plate] the new wall plug adapter does not contact the wall surface. It is about 1/8" to 3/16" gap between the wall and the rim of the new wall plug adapter. I don't like this because the result is a wiggly assembly, does not feel solid or secure even though it is firmly screwed into the old, pre-existing outlet. It the new wall plug adapter had a deeper recess on the back [wall] side it would not have this gap and would feel much more secure.

Answer:	The unit has a variable voltage output and one of the settings is for 9vdc. The maximum current is stated as 3 amps so 500ma should not be a problem. The only question would be about the plug end on the charging cable. It comes with 8 different plug ends to adapt to most any standard charging jack. I haven't had a problem using this charger with a number of devices using many different plug in jacks.

Answer:	Yes, you are right. The output current is automatically adjust ampere depending on device. If your device only needs 0.1 amp. This AC adapter only delivers to 0.1 amp to your device. Max. support 3 amps.
Question:	My device shows "+"on the left and "-" on the right, which seems like "inner positive, outer negative". Is that right
Answer:	If the + sign is on the right, then the device has positive polarity. If there is a – sign on the right, then it has negative polarity. A positive polarity means that the center (also known as the tip) of the output plug is positive (+) and the barrel (ring) of the output plug is negative (−). That would seem to correspond with your "inner positive, outer negative" question. The symbol for positive polarity looks something like this: O----C----+; only there would be a negative sign inside the solid circle on the left, a dot in the middle of the open circle (the "C"), and a solid circle around the plus sign on the right. A negative polarity would be the reverse, like so: +----C----O.

Answer:	2.1 amps is the rating for ONE fast charger. Since these are 2.1 total between TWO, I'm assuming not.

Answer:	Most of the time, receptacles are about 1/8 to 1/4" out from the sheet rock. You can't remove the back of this, therefore it will not sit flush to sheet rock. Not a good design. I don't like the gap between the wall and this unit.

What causes an electrical surge?

In stormy weather, when thunder happens close to the transmission line, the conveying circuit will create induced surge voltage. This can also occur when a large electric device is turned on in the power circuit. Both types of induced surge voltage can interfere the electric devices connected. The first type can damage the devices.

Frequently used surge protection components

Surge protectors can be added to the power circuit to prevent the damage. The surge protectors are constructed with different types of surge protection components. The most frequently used ones are MOV, GDT and TVS. MOV has medium energy absorbing capability and response time, so it is widely used in simple surge protection circuits. GDT has large energy absorbing capability but longer response time; TVS has response speed less than 1Ns with small energy absorbing capability. All three of them are used together to construct professional surge protection circuits.

POWRUI 3-Level Surge Protection Circuit

POWRUI is one of the few Surge Protector makers which uses TVS, MOV and GDT to make 3-Level Surge Protection Circuit that absorbs the energy in steps, providing the best protection of the electrical devices from voltage spikes. When the power surge occurs, TVS responses within 1ns to suppress the unwanted voltages to the safe threshold. Then after several ns, MOV starts to continuously absorb energy.
