Answer:	Definitely the large! I have a shepherd mix around 50 pounds and she uses the large. I would assume your 3 year lab is about that size or bigger? The small size is definitely for smaller dogs.

Answer:	I have a shiatzu/lasso mix. He is 20 lbs. I buy the small & he has a pretty round face. The small would be the one I would start with, then move larger as you need it. My dog was a rescue & he had ear problems for over 2 years & just vets & drops & nothing worked until I bought this. Now a year later & he has not had any ear problems in a year. They are well worth the money & you can use them over again. I just rinse with a little soap & wipe the water off & let dry on a hanger. You will be glad to have them. Good luck. I highly recommend these. The Vet didn't even know they existed.

He shakes his head and the cap moves around. I constantly need to adjust it. I would not recommend trying it for swimming, however, it might depend on how well your dog likes the caps if it stays in place. These are just like human shower caps, thin plastic with an elastic band (actually 2 elastic bands).
