Depending on your budget you probably would wanna buy 3 amps or wireless speakers. A cheap solution is buy a speaker selector switch. You would need to select the speakers you want to hear so it wouldn’t be as seamless but it would solve your dilemma for under $100. Cheaper than almost $2k. |

The college kids were using the unsecured hotspot created by the magnifi to make wifi telephone calls, thus blocking my phone and using up all my router bandwidth ) I found a solution. I unplugged the magnifi, put it in a box, and threw it in the town dump. I then went out and bought a new sound bar that cost 1/2 as much as the Polk that could only be updated when I specifically wanted to update it. I found this to be the perfect solution to a problem the polk WILL NOT fix, WILL NOT assist the customer when asked for help either thru their customer support or their technical support. Now I go around telling anyone who will listen the absolute truth about the lack of support I got from polk. You can do this also. |

| Answer: | Yes, it can stream just like your music would, assuming that you want it too. Like all Sonos components, you can play something different in each room or have them all on the same. So when the kids are watching a movie, the Sonos only plays that in their space and we listen to music in the kitchen. | Answer: | The answer is...it depends....I would suggest that you make a drawing of your desired zones/speaker setup (include the length of hard wired connections as this may impact power/wire gauge to each set of speakers) and take the drawing to a local audio store that carries Sonos and ask them for a recommended setup. Based upon your question I'm assuming you want to drive 6 sets of traditional hard wired speakers and you want the ability to play different music on each set at the same time (6 zones) and presumably each set is separated by some distance, or in different rooms? If this is the desired setup then you will need 6 Connect:Amp ($499) one for each zone, which is a very pricey approach. Another alternative you may want to consider include using a Play:1 ($199), Play:3 ($299), or Play:5 ($399) Sonos speaker for each of the 6 zones and eliminate the need for hard audio wiring (these do require 120Vac wall plug), again this can be pricey, but you are in control of your budget. Lower cost alternatives include using a single Connect:Amp to drive more than one set of speakers, but as you add sets of speakers to a single Connect Amp the power delivered is split amongst the sets of speakers and also it is considered only a single zone, as it has only one input. The Connect:Amp is designed for a single set of speakers but can drive 2 sets of speakers (4 individual speakers) if each of the speakers are rated at 8 ohms. So lets say you wanted to drive no more than 2 sets of speakers on a Connect:Amp then you would need 3 Connect:Amp and each would be a single zone for a total of 3 zones. An even more cost effective solution might be available if you currently own and use a separate receivers/amplifiers with the ability to drive more than one set of speakers (speakers 1 and speakers 2) and currently connected to your existing speakers, you could then use a Sonos Connect ($349) as an input into your receiver/amplifier similar to a CD Player, or other Audio In device (this is the setup I use for a pair of backyard Bose outdoor speakers and a pair of PSB indoor living room speakers and I can switch either set on, or both on at my receiver). All of the setups mentioned will require a Sonos Bridge ($45) for connecting to your computer/wireless network. Again, without knowing exactly what you want for a setup this is the best response I can provide. For what it's worth, the Sonos system is not for everyone, but I find the Sonos products to be of high quality with solid connection performance, easy to setup and provides ready access to my personal music library as well as a vast internet library (Sonos, Songza, 8 Tracks, RadiO, Pandora, Slacker, etc.) and also has very easy to use application for any computer, Android, or iPhone. I currently have the Sonos Bridge, Connect, Connect Amp and have recently added the Playbar for the TV. The downside of Sonos is that the system is very expensive and once you start down the Sonos path you will need to stay on it for it to be cost effective in the long run. |

| Answer: | The tweeters are exactly the same between the two. The 8" model has a larger woofer and therefore will provide better bass reproduction (i.e., deeper low end bass). The reason for the different sizes is sometimes the spacing distances between the ceiling joist and wall studs will dictate which one you can use . If your wall studs or ceiling joist are on 16" centers then get the 8"... if they are on 12" centers you'll have to settle for the 6.5". Hands down... if you have the room get the 8". Just FYI: The 8" version outsells the 6" version 2 to 1. |

| Answer: | Depends on the construction of the house. I would Place a bat of fiberglass insulation behind the speaker if there is no insulation in the ceiling. This will reduce the transmission of sound upstairs , and improve the sound of the speaker in the room it's installed. |

| Answer: | This is actually a great question. As the others have said, the backs are open, which is typically not an issue when installing into a wall or ceiling. HOWEVER...if you install into a ceiling that has blown insulation above it (the loose cellulose kind, not the rolled fiberglass kind) then you WILL want to come up with your own way of keeping the loose insulation off the backs of the speaker. If you don't (as I didn't the first time I bought these) then over time the quality and volume of the sound will lessen because of the insulation working into and pressing against the cones. I had to replace one set because of this problem. |

| Answer: | The unit itself has an overall width of 14 1/2". The door is the same width, so when the door is open flush against the wall, the total span of space used is 29". However, the door does not have to open flush against the wall for the ironing board to be used. The door just needs to be able to open past the front of the unit, allowing the board to come down flat. |

Sheer-Grille
Vanishing Series built-in speakers feature our exclusive wafer-thin Sheer-Grille, a magnetically-secured grille that protrudes only 7mm from its surroundings. Sheer-Grilles have nearly transparent, ultra-small perfs, and are acoustically inert, for dynamic, unimpeded sound and more uniform coverage, even in larger rooms.
Reflective Room Compensation
Reflective surfaces in rooms can make sound brighter and cause image distortion. Engaging the Vanishing reflective room compensation feature (by selecting the low setting) lowers the tweeter level to compensate for reflective surfaces. Vanishing reflective room compensation is a custom audio control that cuts the level only in the 4-5kHz range, exactly where reflectivity destroys sound quality. Outside this narrow 1kHz band, the tweeter retains its detailed and accurate high frequency response, for no loss of realistic musical details.
Timbre-Matching
Vanishing Series RT speakers are timbre-matched to Polk RTi speakers to insure utterly seamless blending from speaker to speaker in systems that combine traditional and built-in speakers.
Simple Setup

Distance Toggle
If positioning limitations demand that your loudspeakers be installed closer than 2 feet from side walls, the proximity of the surface can result in a response bump between 50 and 200Hz. This can create a ‘boomy' sound. The Vanishing wall distance toggle switch is a custom audio control that adjusts the crossover to flatten response and tune out boomness, without sacrificing deep bass response, for more lifelike sound and more flexible placement.

The Sound Town CARME-105B is a compact-size passive loudspeaker without compromising the sound quality. It comes with one high power coaxial 5” woofer, one 1.5” voice coil and 1” compression driver and delivers superb sound. It has a broad frequency response range of 90 Hz to 30KHz and handles 250W RMS and 500W peak power. The wooden enclosure damps out unwanted vibration and guarantees reliable and consistent performance.
