Finally, I put it on a baking sheet in an oven set at 200 degrees F., wound in the opposite direction with a Velcro fastener keeping it in place. About 15 minutes of this treatment loosened up its "memory" and it lay flat. CAUTION: If you do this, keep the windows open and check it frequently. Even at this relatively low temp of 200 degrees, there was out-gassing accompanied by chemical odors--considering the manufacturer's warning of a possible carcinogenic chemical (not identified), you don't want to be breathing that stuff! Customers shouldn't have to go to such lengths to get a product to work. |
